NEW YORK -- Based on recent Chinese Communist Party tactics, the Falun Dafa Information Center expressed concern today that the Party may attempt to stage an incident, perhaps even one involving violence, and then label the actors as Falun Gong practitioners.  The Center urged media workers in Beijing to question and thoroughly investigate any Chinese Communist Party (CCP) characterizations of Falun Gong, especially in light of these concerns.

Canadian Press: Canadian protests over China's human-rights record continue prior to Games

OTTAWA -- Protesters in the capital used the eve of the official start to the Beijing Olympics to launch more protests against China's human-rights record Thursday.

About 100 demonstrators from several groups, along with a number of politicians, fanned out across the street from the Chinese embassy in Ottawa, waving flags and hoisting placards.

Preliminary Round of Chinese International Vocal Competition Completed; Contestants Display Impressive Skill Level (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The second Chinese International Vocal Competition was held on August 8, 2008 at the Town Hall in New York. Twenty-four contestants from the North American region entered the semifinal. A total of forty contestants including sixteen selected from preliminary contests in the Asian and Pacific region will participate in Sunday's semifinal.
