During nine years of persecution of Falun Gong in China, Zhang Jinbo has been cruelly tortured and her mental and physical health drastically declined. Her body incurred great harm from torture. She had to live a poverty-ridden existence in exile. On April 14, 2008, she was arrested again and was brutally tortured.

June 17

Mr. Liu Yanheng, 64, a Falun Gong practitioner from Benxi City, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Due to being subjected to brutal treatment while in detention, he died ten days after his release from Benxi City Forced Labor Camp on June 7, 2008.

June 18

The widow of a well-known musician and Falun Gong adherent, who died from abuse in police custody, has been arrested and is at serious risk of being sentenced to a long prison term.

A previously healthy practitioner is released in critical condition and dies within a month.

Mr. Luo Jiabin has suffered several periods of imprisonment, as have other members of his family.

Two sisters, Wang Yinghua and Wang Yingxia have suffered long term persecution and torture and are currently imprisoned in  Tongjiang Detention Center where Wang Yingzia is in critical condition.

June 21

On May 28, 2008 police seized Doctor Zou Changqing and are holding her in a detention center where she is not allowed visitors let alone legal representation.

June 22

After being tortured in the detention center, Ms. Gui Youyun still refused to denounce her belief in Falun Gong, so the guards injected unknown drugs into her body and made her mentally unstable.
