(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 36 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 25 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention and at least 46 practitioners were arrested.
1. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ren Xiaobei Tortured in Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City
Mr. Ren Xiaobei was taken from the Huazi Prison to the Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City on December 19, 2007. He shouted, "Falun Dafa is good" while being dragged out of the police car. The deputy prison head sent him to the Strictly Controlled Division. Because Mr. Ren kept protesting the persecution and abuse he was savagely tortured and has been locked in solitary confinement up until now. Also, he has been on hunger strike for more than one month and is no longer recognizable due to emaciation and gross mistreatment.
2. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Shie's Whereabouts Unknown
Police officers from Heyuan City arrested Ms. Deng Shie from the Yuancheng District on August 12, 2007. She was first held at the Dongyuan County Detention Center and was later transferred to the Heyuan City Detention Center after being illegally sentenced to four years in prison.
When Ms. Deng's niece went to visit her at the detention center on February 28, 2008, the guard told her to come back the next day. The same guard told her the following day that Ms. Deng had been sent away but refused to disclose the location. Deng Shie's husband went to the detention center on April 23, 2008, and asked about his wife's whereabouts. The guard on duty said, "I don't know."
3. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested When Explaining the Falun Gong Facts
Police arrested two women practitioners when the two were explaining the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution at 4:00 p.m. on June 1, 2008, in Gepu Town, Yunmeng County.

5. [Beipiao City, Liaoning Province] The Persecution of Ms. Dong Changxue
Wang Wenqing, head of the Daban Town Police Station in Beipiao City, and Wang Wenhui, a political head at the police station, ransacked the home of Ms. Dong Changxue on April 26, 2008. They took a copy of Zhuan Falun, twelve other Falun Gong books, one copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, one copy of Disintegrate the Communist Party Culture, one set of Falun Gong lecture VCD, and several copies of the "Minghui Weekly" and the Zhengjian Weekly. They also extorted 2,000 yuan from Dong Changxue's husband.
Wang Wenqing and Wang Wenhui tricked Ms. Dong into going to the police station when she was working in the fields at 9:30 a.m. on May 22, 2008. They again ransacked her home and took a photograph of Falun Gong's founder. She was taken to the Liangshuihe Detention Center in Beipiao City at 8:00 p.m. on May 22, 2008.

6. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Ms. Li Yongxin and Other Practitioners
Ms. Li Yongxin and Ms. Zhao Cuizhi, both 52, from Huangjia Village, Tongjiangkou Township, Changtu County, are still being held at the Changtu County Detention Center. Zhao Cuizhi's mother, Zhao Shuwen, has developed severe illness. Zhao Cuizhi was released after she asked permission to take care of her mother.
Practitioners Ms. Hou Guiqin, Ms. Zhang Peihuan, and Ms. Wang Lianqing were released on May 28.

7. [Panshi City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xin Ming Arrested and Home Ransacked
Panshi City 610 Office agents and Domestic Security Department agents went to the 914 Panshi Steel Pipe Corporation in Yantongshan Town on the evening of May 29, 2008. They arrested Mr. Xin Ming from work and subsequently ransacked his home, taking his computer, printer, and other personal belongings.

8. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Another Practitioner Arrested
On May 26, 2008, about 14 officers from the Gongzhuling Police Department broke into the home of Mr. Sui, a 70-year-old man living in Yangdachengzi Town. His bedridden wife now has no one to care for her.
9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Lezhen and Husband Arrested
Ms. Wang Lezhen and her husband were arrested from their home in Nanhu, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, on the morning of May 26, 2008. The police also ransacked their home and took computer(s), printer(s), DVD burner(s), digital camera(s), cash, and her husband's mobile phone. Ms. Wang was taken to Dongxihu Women's Detention Center in Wuhan City that same day. Her husband wrote a guarantee statement in exchange for his release because he was worried about their daughter [being left alone at home].
10. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Guofeng Detained and Current Whereabouts Unknown
Officials from the Wendeng City Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Jiang Guofeng at noon on May 5, 2008, when she had just returned home from the fields in Xibo Village, Zeku Town, Wendeng City. She was held in Wendeng Detention Center. Two weeks later, detention center officials told her family to bring clothes for her, but when her family arrived, detention center officials told them that they no longer knew where Ms. Jiang was.
11. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Party Officials Harass Ms. Hou Qiaozhen Again
Officers from the Heping Police Station and from the Congtai District Police Department broke into Ms. Hou Qiaozhen's home on May 30, 2008. She is in her 60s. They arrested her, ransacked her home, and took her to the No. 1 Detention Center in Handan City that same day. They harassed her again on the morning of June 1 and took her private address book.
Hou Qiaozhen had gone to Beijing to speak out on behalf of Falun Dafa after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. She was arrested, brought back to Handan City, and was held in a forced labor camp for one year.

12. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yongzhen Arrested
Three or four officers from the Shanhetun Forest Bureau Police Department in Wuchang City arrested Ms. Wang Yongzhen from Hongwei Forest Farm on May 14 and took her to a brainwashing session held by the police department.
13. [Chongqing] Correction Regarding Mr. He Zuming's Arrest
Mr. He Zuming, a retired teacher from the Lanhua Village Elementary School in Shiqiaopu, Chongqing, was arrested. Officers from Erlang Police Station in the same village participated in the arrest. They also ransacked his home. He Zuming's current whereabouts are unknown.
14. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Jing Detained
Ms. Chen Jing was arrested on the evening of May 22, 2008, and is now being held at the Wuchang City Custody Center.

15. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Qiwen and Mr. Sun Qiwu Arrested
Officials from Penglai City 610 Office and Nanwang Town Police Station arrested Mr. Sun Qiwen and his wife, Ms. Hu Guizhen, and Mr. Sun Qiwu and his wife, Ms. Li Xia, from their homes in Nanwang Village, Nanwang Town, in the early morning on May 30, 2008. The officials took the practitioners' computers, printers, Falun Gong books and materials, and also threatened their families. Ms. Hu and Ms. Li were released later in the afternoon. Mr. Sun Qiwen and Mr. Sun Qiwu were taken to Penglai Detention Center.
16. [Shanghai] Ms. Yan Guiying Reported and Arrested When She Was Explaining the Falun Gong Facts
Yan Guiying, a woman in her 50s, lived in Room 301, Unit No. 14 at Nongwenhuayuan, in Alley 901, the Dahua No.3 Road in the Baoshan District, Shanghai. She was reported on May 30 when she was clarify the facts near her home. Her home was ransacked in the afternoon, and the police took her son's computer and printer. Her husband has heart disease and her mother is in her 80s. She is currently held at the Baoshan Detention Center.
17. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Yue Naiming Detained at Qinghe Detention Center
Mr. Yue Naiming owns a store in Diaoyutai, Haidian District, Beijing. He was arrested on April 27 and is now in Qinghe Detention Center. The police have forbidden Yue Naiming's family from going near the store although it's the family's property.
18. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Jinyu Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Wang Jinyu is a retiree from the No. 4 Radio Factory in Cuqiao, the Wuhou District, Chengdu City. He was in his 70s and was arrested on May 27, 2008, when he was distributing Falun Gong materials.
19. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested.
A series of arrests targeting Falun Gong practitioners have taken place since May 2008. Two practitioners were arrested in the evening on May 12 when they were talking to people about Falun Gong in Jianwei. Ms. Yi Zhimei was reported and arrested on May 23 when she was handing out Falun Gong flyers. Zhugen Police Station officers and a plainclothes police officer arrested Ms. Li Zhongfang and another practitioner at 10:30 a.m. on May 30, 2008, when the two were explaining the facts about the persecution to the public.
20. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Zhang Qiwei and Mr. Zhang Congjie
Officials from the Zhangying Town administration and police station and those from Xiguanxin Village in Jiaozhou City ransacked Mr. Zhang Qiwei's home at 9:00 a.m. on April 25, 2008. They took several Falun Gong books and an MP3 player and took Mr. Zhang to Zhangying Town Police Station. They crossed his arms and bound him to a heating pipe. Seven officers beat him savagely, until his clothes were torn and his whole body was bruised. The police didn't let him go until they had extorted 1,000 yuan from his family.
The police also broke into Mr. Zhang Congjie's home. Mr. Zhang's 11-year-old son was the only person home at the time. The police took computers and printers, Falun Gong books and money Zhang Congjie had borrowed to treat his father's illness. Mr. Zhang Congjie heard the news and left the area to avoid arrest. His current whereabouts are unknown.
21. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Tang Fangju, Ms. Xiang Aimei and her husband, and Ms. Yi Chunxiu were arrested on May 27, 2008. It is said that Ms. Tang and Ms. Yi are being held at the No 2 Detention Center. Nothing has been heard about Ms. Xiang and her husband.
22. [Rong County, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Yang Rong, Mr. Kong Ming, and Mr. Kong Kui Disappeared After Their Arrests
Officers from the Rong County Police Department's 610 Office, from the the Domestic Security Division, and from the Political and Judiciary Committee arrested Ms. Yang Rong, Mr. Kong Ming, and Mr. Kong Kui on May 30, 2008, in the afternoon. They subsequently ransacked the practitioners' homes and took computers and other items. The practitioners' current whereabouts are unknown.
23. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Hua Arrested in Early May 2008
Ms. Zhang Hua was reported to the police when she was reading a Falun Gong book in her privately owned store. She was arrested in early May 2008 and is currently in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.
24. [Tianjin ] Mr. Wang Changyu Arrested
Mr. Wang Changyu from Zhanbinxili, the Dongli District, Tianjin, was reported to the authorities at 8:00 p.m. on May 31, 2008, when he was explaining the persecution of Falun Gong in a public park near his home. Dongli police subsequently arrested him.
25. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Jinshu Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhao Jinshu was reported for exposing Communist Party lies about Falun Gong. The police followed her for many days and eventually arrested her from work. She is now in the Beichen Police Station.
26. [Zhongfang County, Hunan Province] Yang Yuansheng Arrested
Officials from Jinxi Township persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, claiming it was necessary in order to "ensure security before the Olympics" although they knew very well Falun Gong practitioners did not pose any security risks. They arrested Yang Yuansheng who has since been cut off from his family and relatives.

27. [Xianyang City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Cao Junyi and Mr. Yan Renyan Arrested
A group of officials including Yan Yong, Wugong County Domestic Security Division head in Xianyang City, and 610 Office head He Hui arrested Mr. Cao Junyi, a 70-year-old man from Yilao Village, Puji Town. They also arrested Ms. Yan Renyan, who is in her 60s. The officials ransacked the practitioners' homes. When their families asked for their release, the police refused to disclose the practitioners' whereabouts.
28. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Peng Weisheng, Mr. Peng Liang, and Ms. Lin Arrested
Mr. Peng Weisheng, Mr. Peng Liang, and Ms. Lin were arrested on May 31, 2008. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
29. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xiao Xuehua Arrested and Held at a Brainwashing Center
Shantou 610 Office agents arrested Ms. Xiao Xuehua from Shantou City from home at 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2008, and took her to a brainwashing center.
30. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] One Falun Dafa Materials Production Site Destroyed; Practitioners Arrested
Police destroyed a newly established Falun Dafa materials production site in Pingdu City at 9:00 a.m. on May 30, 2008. Volunteer Ms. Sun Shujie was arrested. The police took one IBM R51 notebook computer, two copy machines, 44 boxes of copy paper, one paper cutter, 25 kg [55 lbs] of ink, one brand new ink cartridge, a new three-wheel motor vehicle, a large stapler, a new rice cooker, more than 30 Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, other raw materials and daily necessities, and several hundred yuan in cash.
Ms. Xiao Sumin was also arrested that same day. The police searched her and took the keys to her home. Six plainclothes police officers immediately went to her home and ransacked it.
31. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Bai Yuping Persecuted at the Jilin Province Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Bai Yuping was arrested on April 22, 2008. According to a reliable source, she has been "illegally sentenced" to one year of forced labor and is now in the Jilin Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Her family said she has since lost a great deal of weight.
32. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Yujing Arrested
Police arrested Ms. Wang Yujing from the Nankai District from home on May 25, 2008.
33. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Dan Arrested
Officers from the Dongting Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Dan, 63, from the Wuchang District, Wuhan City on the evening of May 30, 2008, when she distributed Falun Gong materials. The police ransacked her home in the middle of the night on May 31, 2008, and took Falun Gong books and materials.
34. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Liping Arrested from Home and Sent to a Labor Camp
35. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Xiuzhi and Ms. Wu Xiuqin Sent to Changchun Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Li Xiuzhi from Jiangyuan County and Ms. Wu Xiuqin from Jingyu County, Baishan City, were arrested on May 22 when they were handing out Falun Gong flyers. Ms. Li's home was ransacked after the police identified her home address from a utility bill she had with her. The police took 1,465 yuan, two U drives, one transmitter, and a key from Ms. Wu. Li Xiuqin was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor, and Wu Xiuqin was sentenced to 15 months of forced labor. They were both taken to Changchun Women's Forced Labor Camp.
36. [Beijing] Mr. Ge Qingpei Arrested
Mr. Ge Qingpei, employed at the Miyun County Machine Tool Research Institute, was arrested from home at 11:30 p.m. on May 28, 2008.
37. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Xiuling Held at the Hexi Police Department Detention Center
Officers from the Tucheng Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang Xiuling from Hexi District, Tianjin, on the afternoon of May 23, 2008. She has been transferred to the Hexi Police Department's Detention Center.
38. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Pi Xiuying Sent to a Labor Camp
Ms. Pi Xiuying from Wangya Village, Jiuzhai Township has been taken to a labor camp.
39. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yongfang Arrested
Ms. Wang Yongfang lived in Beimu Village, Wopu Township, Shouguang City. Officers from Shouguang City Police Department harassed Ms. Wang at her home on the morning of March 12, 2008, claiming to search for practitioners Ms. Liang Li and Wang Yongfang's father, Mr. Wang Hongsheng.
Officers from the Wopu District Yangkou Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Yongfang from her home and took all of her Falun Gong books. She was subsequently held at the Shouguang City Detention Center and was recently sentenced to forced labor.
40. [Lianyuan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Liangyu Lives Away from Home to Avoid Persecution
Ms. Zeng Liangyu, a teacher at the Xingfu Elementary School in Liumutang, Lianyuan City, was sentenced to more than one year of forced labor in 2004. She wrote "Falun Dafa is good" on a blackboard at the end of May 2008 and was subsequently harassed by Lianyuan City 610 Office agents and Domestic Security Department agents. She lived away from home to avoid arrest.

41. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Yulan and Ms. Cao Aiqin Arrested
Ms. Cao Yulan and Ms. Cao Aiqin from the Linzi District, Zibo City, were reported for distributing Falun Gong materials near Shaozhuang, Qingzhou City on the evening of May 31, 2008. Officers from the Shaozhuang Police Station in Qingzhou City arrested them and are now holding them in Qingzhou Detention Center.
42. [Beijing] Mr. Qi Qingan Held at a Beijing Labor Reeducation Dispatch Division
Mr. Qi Qingan was arrested from home in early April 2008. He is now in the Beijing Labor Reeducation Dispatch Division.
43. [Jilin Province] The Persecution of Ms. Wang Zhaoqing, Ms. Ren Shujing, and Ms. Wang Xueying
Ms. Wang Zhaoqing and Ms. Ren Shujing, both guards from the No. 4 Zhenlai Police Department Prison run by Jilin Prison Administration Bureau, have been sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong. They are now in the Jilin Women's Prison.
Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Xueying, is a retired employee from the No. 7 Prison and is being held in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp.
44. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Jinxia Arrested
Officers from Yonghe Township Police Station and from the Jidong County Domestic Security Bureau arrested Ms. Liu Jinxia the afternoon of May 8, 2008.
45. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Xiuzhi and Others Arrested
Mr. Liu Xiuzhi and Mr. Du Jinsheng's wife from Zhanli Village, Wangchang Township, Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province were arrested on May 27, 2008. Participating in the arrest were Hengshui City 610 Office agents. They two are now held in Hengshui City. Someone said the police took a cable TV trunk line amplifier from Mr. Du's home.
46. [Hebei Province] Mr. Li Wei and His Wife Arrested
Mr. Li Wei and his wife were arrested and are now in Qinhuangdao City No. 1 Detention Center.

47. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Lu Zhenxiang and Others Arrested
Mr. Lu Zhenxiang, Mr. Wang Shifan, Mr. Gui Baihua, Mr. Zhong Xianghui, Mr. Huang Jiafa, and Ms. Wang Yuelan were arrested on May 8, 2008. Participating in the arrests were officers from the Saichenghu Police Station in Jiujiang County. Mr. Lu Zhenxiang and Mr. Huang Jiafa were each sentenced to 18 months of forced labor and are now in the Jiujiang City Forced Labor Camp.
Mr. Lu Zhenxiang is in his 60s. Police have held him many times since the persecution began on July 20, 1999. He was taken to the Jiangxi Province Men's Prison in 2002 after being sentenced to four years incarceration. He was forced to do heavy labor and underwent repeated brainwashing sessions over a long time. As a result, he suffered relapses of spinal problems, high blood pressure, and diabetes, all of which had previously been cured through Falun Gong practice. He was released in 2006 when he was at the brink of death.
Mr. Huang Jiafa has been persecuted many times since July 20, 1999, at the hands of officials at the Jiujiang County Police Department. He was sentenced to three years in prison in 2002 and was released in 2005.
