(Clearwisdom.net) In March 2008, many Falun Gong practitioners detained at Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp were handcuffed and beaten. Although the persecution was exposed to the outside world, the labor camp authorities continued torturing the practitioners. Among them, Ms. Zhu Guoying had a mental collapse due to the torture.

Ms. Zhu Guoying, 51, is a resident of Beixing Farm of the Hongxinglong Agriculture Administration Bureau in Heilongjiang Province. Ms. Zhu lived with her elderly parents while her husband was out of town on business. Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Zhu has been arrested, detained and her home ransacked many times by police officer Li Yonggang and personnel from the Beixing Farm Police Station. She has been fined several times, totaling over 25,000 yuan.

After 10:00 a.m on December 2, 2007, a dozen policemen including police chief Li Hui and officer Li Yonggang from the central station of the Beixing Farm Police Station broke into Ms. Zhu's home and took her into custody. Her mother and some of her relatives went to the local government agencies to appeal for her release, but they were threatened by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. Ms. Zhu was later sentenced to forced labor and sent to Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp.

Every practitioner sent to the Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp is forced sign their name and give their fingerprint on the so-called "five statements" (similar to the three statements) promising to give up practicing Falun Gong. Anyone who refuses is cursed at, beaten and slapped on the face. Several practitioners still bear scars on their necks and mouths from these beatings.

Ms. Zhu was locked up in the Eighth Squadron of the Fifth Team. Squadron leader Liu Yadong, deputy leaders Li Xiujin and Zhang Yan, and camp guard Sun Hui are the primary perpetrators who ordered other detainees to torture Ms. Zhu. In late March 2008, practitioners Wu Dongsheng, Wang Jinhua, Li Xianglian, Liu Cuiyun, and Zhu Guoying refused to write the so-called "homework." As a result, they were handcuffed around the clock next to a wall for three straight weeks. Their hands were cuffed and hung at the level of their heads.

Ms. Zhu Guoying began showing signs of a mental distress. She would at times talk senselessly to herself or shout at others. The guards turned a blind eye to her condition. Instead, they taped her mouth shut and tied her down to the bed, causing her health to deteriorate even further. The tortures she was subjected to at the labor camp finally caused her suffer a mental collapse.
