(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report 22 practitioners were subjected to brutal treatment during their detention and at least eleven practitioners were "unlawfully arrested."
1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Jigui Is On a Hunger Strike to Protest the Persecution
Mr. Lu Jigui, a practitioner from Wuolitun, Daqing City, has been detained in Longfeng Detention Center for five days. During this time, he has been on a hunger strike to protest persecution. The police in the Longfeng Detention Center intend to force-feed him.
2. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Huang Zhili Has Been Detained for Ten Months
In April 2007, Mr. Huang Zhili was illegally arrested by officials from the Jiawang District 610 Office, Xuzhou City, and the Zizhuang Town Police Substation. Mr. Huang has been held at the Beishang Detention Center in Xuzhou City for ten months.
3. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] More Information about Ms. Xue Guangyin and Ms. Jing Enyu's Arrests
In the morning on February 2, 2008, practitioners Ms. Xue Guangyin, 65 years old, from Dongwulitun, Caitingqiao Town, Yutian County, and Ms. Jing Enyu, 64, went to Tangzitou Town to post truth clarification materials and were taken into custody by Caitingqiao Town Police Station officers. They were detained at the county detention center. Their homes were both searched. Several Dafa books and copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party were confiscated.
4. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Guo Huifang Was Unlawfully Sentenced to Five Years
Ms. Guo Huifang, a practitioner from Xifeng District, Qingyang City, has been detained three times. On May 17, 2006, she was again arrested by the Xifeng City Public Security Bureau. On October 10 of that year, she was sentenced to five years and was transferred to Lanzhou City Jail.
5. [Beijing City] A Couple, Ms. Li Caixia and Mr. Liu Baowang, Were Taken into Custody by the Police
On the morning of January 23, 2008, police from the Pinggu District National Security Team, the Jinhaihu Police Substation, and the Nandulehe Police Substation broke into their home and arrested practitioners Ms. Li Caixia, over 30 years old, Mr. Wang Tong, over 60, and Mr. Liu Baowang, over 60. At the same time they searched and took away some Dafa materials including the "Minghui Weekly."
6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] More Information about Mr. Guo Gang Being Persecuted
At noon on January 25, 2008, a dozen plainclothes police officers broke into Mr. Guo Gang's home and confiscated his computer, printer, VCD, flashlight, telescope, electronic books, lecture books, and thousands of yuan in cash, Mr. Guo Gang's driver's license, and Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Agents from the National Security Team forced Mr. Guo Gang to tell them whether he had any bank-books in his house. They harassed him from noon till four o'clock. Mr. Guo Gang has since been detained in Harbin City.
7. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wu Fengying and Ms. Liu Wenying Are Persecuted
Two practitioners from Chancheng County, Zhoukou City, were released on January 31, 2008. Over 6,000 yuan was extorted from Ms. Wu Fengying, and 20,000 yuan was extorted from Ms. Liu Wenying .
Currently at Chancheng County Detention Center, they are still unlawfully detaining Ms. Lao Zhu, who is over 60 years old, and who has so far been detained for around ten months.
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yuan Ling Was Unlawfully Arrested
Ms. Yuan Ling, a practitioner from Daoli District, Harbin City, was unlawfully arrested on February 1, 2008, by police who broke into her home in the Aijiangjinyuan Residence District after she gave out Dafa truth-clarifying materials.
9. [Weifang City, Shangdong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Dong Bingsheng
Mr. Dong Bingsheng was not "transformed" when he was detained at the Zhangqiu Forced Labor Camp. As a result, he was punished by being forced to sit on a small stool and face the wall. Every morning, whenever he got up, he was forced to sit there, sometimes until midnight, sometimes to 3 a.m., and he was kept under surveillance. Every day he was allowed to sleep for only two and a half hours. Since he had to sit there for such a long time, the skin on his backside broke. Mr. Dong was also hung up for four days, and the guards instigated four prisoners to beat him. After being severely beaten, he could not sit, but several days later, he was again forced to sit on the stool and face the wall.
In December 2007 alone, 20 to 30 practitioners in Weifang were sent to Zhangqiu Forced Labor Camp. And there are over 100 practitioners in Team Eight.
10. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Ms. Wei Zhengqin Was Arrested and Her Home Was Searched
Ms. Wei Zhengqin, a practitioner from Huaiyang County, was arrested from her workplace, the Huaiyang County People's Hospital, on February 1, 2008. She was taken to Huaiyang County Detention Center by the County National Security Team and Beiguang Police Substation officers. Her home computer and printers were confiscated.
11. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lu Weiwen, His Wife, and an Employee Were Arrested
Mr. Lu Weiwen's wife, Ms. A Mei, and Ms. Li Xiuyan, an employee of their shoe store were arrested by several officers from the 610 Office, the Shiqi District Public Security Bureau, and the local police substation. Later on they broke into Mr. Lu's residence and arrested him before they searched his home and store. Currently the police are holding them at the detention center.
12. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] The Persecution of Ms. Zhang Yaqing
Ms. Zhang Yaqing was arrested in October 2007 when she was preparing Dafa truth-clarifying materials in Daqing City, and has since been detained in Fangxiao Detention Center.
In November 2007, the police took Ms. Zhang to Fang Xiao's rented residence to confiscate all the Dafa books; truth-clarifying materials; a one hundred yuan bill with words printed on it that said, "Heaven is destroying the Chinese Communist Party, Quit the CCP to keep safe;" a computer valued at 6.000 yuan; and a bank book.
On January 24, 2008, Ms. Zhang was tried in Longnan Court, Daqing City. Currently there is no information as to where specifically she is being held in Daqing City.
13. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yuxian from Dagangzi District Was Taken into Custody in the Evening on February 3, 2008

14.[Tianjin City] Mr. Li Shuhua's Home Was Broken into by Police
At around 3:00 p.m. on February 4, 2008, Mr. Li Shuhua's home was broken into by the police, who dismantled his satellite receiver. Mr. Li is a practitioner from Dagang District, Tianjin City.
15.[Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xuan Guoying Was Put into a Small Cell at Daqing Jail to be Further Persecuted
Mr. Xuan Guoying, Mr. Zhang Zhi and Mr. Fu Wencang, who are being held in the Daqing Jail, were put into a small cell to be further persecuted several days ago.
16. [Jiangyou, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ran Tongyi Is Facing Unlawful Sentence
Mr. Ran Tongyi is currently still being detained in the Jiangyou City Detention Center. His relatives cannot go to visit him. The court intends to sentence him.
17. [Tianjin City] Mr. Li Lixin, a Practitioner from Fuyi Street, Yixing, Beicheng District, Was Arrested in the Afternoon on February 4
18. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Have Been Unlawfully Sentenced
At 9:30 a.m. on February 3, 2008, the Qingbaijiang District Court in Chengdu City sentenced six practitioners. Among them, Mr. Chen Hao, a practitioner from the Chuanghua Group Company, was sentenced to five years; Ms. Wei Denghui was sentenced to four years; Ms. Zhang Hong was sentenced to three years and six months; Ms. Bai Yuyuan was sentenced to three years and six months; Mr. Zhong Congwen was sentenced to three years with four years suspended sentence; and Mr. Xie Wenju, a former employee from the Sichuan Chemical and Engineering Mechanical Company, was sentenced to three years and six months.
19. [Yulong County, Yunnan Province] Mr. Wang Zuogeng Was Sentenced to Four Years
Mr. Wang Zuogeng, a practitioner from Caojian Town, was arrested for the second time in 2007 and sentenced to four years.
