Divine Performing Arts Show is a Big Hit with Chicago Audience

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of December 27, 2008, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) held its first show at the Chicago Civic Opera House. Audience members felt the show was of the highest caliber.

"The show is a crowd-pleaser"

Ms. Darcy Nelsen is a professional classical ballet dancer who has been dancing for 19 years, now. She started dancing when she was just two years old. She attended the show with her Mom, Susan, who bought a ticket for Darcy as a Christmas present.

Darcy told the reporter after watching the show, "It was very exciting! The technique is of very high quality. The work is exquisite, it's great. The music is wonderful. The percussion and all the cymbals and everything, are fabulous. The backdrop is great. So it is a crowd-pleaser for all ages."

Susan and Darcy both liked the verbal explanations that were provided before each dance set, letting the audience know a little background information on the dance they were about to see.

Darcy excitedly continued, "I loved the variety. It's not all one type, it has everything in it. It has singing, it has drums, the pianist was fabulous, the dancers--there's all different types of dance. It's different, it's culturally diverse, and it has stories. It touches a lot of bases, and it has a bit of Chinese opera, which I have not seen a lot."

'We enjoyed it very much, very beautiful'

Human resource professionals, Kyle and Laila Dashia, both liked the simplicity, grace, and the attention to detail of each dance.

Mrs. Dashia thought the dances were very elegant, "I really enjoyed the music, and the elegance of everything. The orchestra was very elegant, very calm, very soothing, just easy to listen to."

"We enjoyed every moment of the show"

Ewelina, an embryologist, attended the show with her Mom, Dad, and sister.

Ewelina commended the performances, "I love the show ... we enjoyed every moment of it. Well, the costumes are wonderful. The dancers are amazing."

The whole family really liked the digital backdrop. "They incorporated dancing together with the background. It was just really amazing, because it actually adds something different. We've been to many ballet shows and dancing shows and this is actually the first one that uses something like that. It's refreshing and new," said Ewelina.

Ewelina thought the DPA lived up to its name, "It's perfect. It's a different tradition, a different culture, and actually I have never seen anything like that before. So it was very nice and an interesting experience."

Ewelina's sister, Jusdyna, a physician, liked the calming effect the show had on her. "Wonderful. The dancers the music ... making me so calm and linking it to other cultures. It's beautiful. The music is amazing. I think they did a really good job combining the culture and tradition, but also something new and refreshing.

She continued, "I really love it and am so happy I am here, that I can enjoy the show and be a part of it, and see other cultures."
