(Clearwisdom.net) When some fellow practitioners go through tribulations, they know to look inwards and try very hard to find their attachments. Yet they are often still unable to pass their tests after they have found all their human attachments. The reason for their not having abandoned these attachments is that they have not really identified them. Every test or tribulation Teacher arranges for us probably targets more than one attachment; however, there must be a main attachment, which must be gotten rid of. If this attachment can't be found, then it can't be abandoned. There is an issue of enlightenment. If you do not realize it, how can Teacher help you to eliminate it? Human attachments are supposed to be abandoned. If they are not, then we will inevitably stagnate while going through tribulations.

We know that all cosmic material in other dimensions is alive. A human attachment is no different: it is also a form of physical existence in the microscopic space, and it is a life. When Falun Dafa practitioners go through tribulations, look inwards for human notions, and disintegrate and eliminate them, will that life passively accept its fate? Inevitably, it will do all it can to divert you, by filling you with all sorts of notions, and re-directing your attention so that it can slip away. At that time, if your righteous thoughts are insufficient, you will easily be controlled. You will look for human notions, but no matter how many attachments you find, the truly important one has actually been overlooked.

I have had extensive experience in this regard during the last two years. Local coordinators and I always have gaps, although on the surface we do not argue or quarrel and are friendly to each other. However, once we get together, we always feel depressed. No matter what the other person says, I always find fault. I know this is not right, that it is my human notions that make trouble, but which attachment is it? For two years now, I have looked inwards earnestly and found many attachments, such as the attachments to fame, fighting, showing off, and to self. Although these human notions have been exposed in big and small Fa conferences, the problem has not been solved fundamentally. Moreover, I also had physical symptoms that lasted for several months. When I sent forth righteous thoughts it was no use, until one day when I was reading about the attachment to jealousy in Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun. I truly found the chief culprit that had hindered me from passing the tribulation--my attachment to jealousy. Actually, when I looked inwards before, I had wondered about jealousy, but whenever I thought about it, a thought quickly flashed through my mind: "You have no jealousy, who are you jealous of? They are not as capable as you are." Looking at it now, it was my attachment to jealousy that was the source of trouble. It purposely directed my attention elsewhere, so it could exist safely. We often do not realize this phenomenon, think that it is our thinking, regarding the fake me as the real me, and are deceived. As a result, we are unable to pass the test for a long time. We not only are unable to break through the level, but some practitioners even fall down, and even have left the human world with regret.

Therefore, we can only use the time to study the Fa more and well, and strengthen our righteous thoughts. We must differentiate between the fake self and the real self when looking inwards. In this way the Fa can remind us promptly to find attachments that are supposed to be abandoned. Moreover, when we are in the midst of ordeals, we must listen to fellow practitioners' opinions more. Onlookers are clear headed. No matter how sly that human notion is, it can only create interference in the person concerned, and is helpless toward other people.

This is my limited understanding. Please point out any mistakes.
