(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of September 12, 2008, Ms. Yu Liqiu, a teacher at Dongfeng County No. 3 School, and Mr. Dong Yufeng, self-employed, went to Xiaosiping Township to distribute Falun Gong materials. They were arrested and incarcerated in the Dongfeng County Detention Center. On September 19, Liaoyuan City 610 Office personnel went to Mr. Dong and Ms. Yu's residence and confiscated their child's computer.
After their arrest on September 12, the two practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The guards physically assaulted them and threatened to force-feed them with hot pepper juice and salt liquid. The guards still do not allow any family visits. Their current situations are unknown. Their family received a notice saying that their cases have been transferred to the courts.
On August 5, 2008, personnel from the county Politics and Law Committee 610 Office, the police department, and the education bureau all ganged up. The No. 3 School principal personally made a phone call to Yu Liqiu, who was teaching a class at that time. They hoodwinked her into going to the education bureau and then took her to a brainwashing center. She was compelled to write the "Five Statements" (similar to the Three Statements) before being released. This incident pained her and her family greatly. On August 5, Dong Yufeng was almost captured and sent to the brainwashing center.
Ms. Yu has a father in his 80s and a son still in school. The two of them still need her to take care of them. Mr. Dong had to close his hair salon business.
Policeman Chen Shuangyou from the National Security Division of the county police department has been actively participating in the persecution since 1999. He has prepared all the documents relating to practitioners who have been "illegally detained" or sentenced to forced labor. He has incurred much karma and is extremely cunning. He has managed to deceive many practitioners with his pretense of kindness. Practitioner Dai Shuli was his classmate, yet he had her illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor. He has also abused his power and extorted money from practitioners' families.
Liu Changlin is in his 40s. He is currently the chief of Dongfeng Police Department and also head of the Politics and Law Committee. Li Wensheng, currently the head of the Dongfeng County 610 Office, has met with retribution. He was diagnosed with unilateral necrosis of the thigh bone and has implicated his family, too. His wife died suddenly from a stroke.
