1. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Secretly Tried in Court
On October 8, 2008, agents of the Liaoyuan City Police 610 Office and the court secretly conducted a trial of nine Falun Gong practitioners, Mr. Yu Donghui, Mr. Zhang Lizhi, Ms. Zhao Lijuan, Ms. Luan Feng, Mr. Duan Lifeng, Mr. Xu Hongwei, Ms. Ma Dongyan, Mr. Zhang Jinfeng and Ms. Zheng Chunling at a detention center. Only two family members per defendant were allowed in court. Outside the gates, plainclothes police officers interrogated additional family members who had been asked to leave the room. At 7:00 a.m, special agent Xu Hui, from the domestic security division, began monitoring the entrance of the detention center with a video recorder. As a consequence, practitioner Ms. Sheng Shuyun who had gone to the center to send righteous thoughts was arrested on site and her home was ransacked.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Yuanqing and Two Other Practitioners Mistreated
Practitioners Ms. Zhang Yuanqing, 63, Ms. Li Keying, 58, and Ms. Zhang Hongying, 78, residents at Tongjiaqiao Community, Shapingba District, Chongqing City, were arrested and interrogated at approximately 10:00 p.m on September 8, 2008. They were not released until approximately 11:00 a.m. on the next day. Ms. Zhang Hongying and Ms. Li Keying were on parole. Ms. Zhang Yuanqing was forced to leave her home to avoid being arrested again.
Practitioner Mr. Xie Jin, 40, an instructor at the Chongqing Postal and Telecommunications Institute, has now been missing for more than 3 weeks.
3. [Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Yonghong Arrested and Mistreated
Practitioner Mr. Li Yonghong, the son of a retired employee of the Pancheng Steel Co. in Jiang You City, worked in Chengdu City. On August 27, 2008, he was arrested by police officers from the Dongpo Station, Qingyang District Department in Chengdu City.

5. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Guofang Arrested and Detained
Ms. Wang Guofang works for the education system in Huadian City. While at work on October 8, 2008, Ms. Wang Guofang was arrested by police officers from the Xinhua Station and directors of other police departments. She is being detained at the Huadian City Detention Center.
