(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li is over 70 years old and is well-known in his village. At a young age, he suffered from several illnesses. All year long he coughed up phlegm. He was also short of breath and his body felt uncomfortable. In the past few years, his financial difficulties have eased now that all of his children are married and have their own families. He also has more time on his hands.
One of Mr. Li's hobby is watching television. When he is not working in his garden or sleeping, he watches television. He likes to watch most shows on TV, except for movies and soap operas.
Mr. Li's son, Mr. Li Xinyu (a pseudonym), practices Falun Dafa. Mr. Li supports his son's cultivation and often says, "Falun Gong practitioners cultivate Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance and teaches people to be good. The more people practice it, the better." However, he could not understand why his son told people the truth about Falun Gong and distributed truth-clarification materials.
Four years ago, after New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) began airing in China, Mr. Li's son installed a satellite dish for him to watch NTDTV. Although Mr. Li liked the NTDTV programs, he still wanted to watch the other channels he used to watch. However, he couldn't find the other channels anymore. He asked his son, "Why it is that?" Xinyu answered, "Then just watch this channel. It is an honost channel and is good for people to watch. All the other channels only serve as mouthpieces for the Chinese regime. They are harmful to people." Mr. Li did not believe him, so he asked his sister, who worked at the county government, to try to pressure Xinyu into installing another satellite dish.
Xinyu's aunt talked to him and said, "Please ask the installation person to get another channel for your dad. Just add one more channel. Your dad is old now and only likes to watch television. How can he only watch one channel?" Xinyu replied, "All the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) channels are harmful. Because he is old and in poor health, I don't want him to watch the CCP channels. The more he watches those channels, the more he is cheated and lied to by the regime and the worse his health will be. I am truly thinking of him. NTDTV promotes the divine traditional Chinese culture and reports things subjectively and honestly. It is the only television that dares to tell the truth. It's the most truthful and best television station."
As days went by, the more Mr. Li watched NTDTV programs, the more he enjoyed them, and the more he wanted to watch them. Mr. Li began to change ideologically and physically.
Originally, Mr. Li did not understand why his son would clarify the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution to others. But after watching NTDTV, he realized that he had been cheated by the CCP's lies about the practice and he understood the true nature of the CCP. He also experienced something miraculous: his lifelong asthma, coughing, and spitting began to gradually disappear. He became healthier, with a glowing face. He looked much younger. After experiencing these positive effects, Mr. Li said, "CCP television programs are poisonous and harmful. NTDTV is most righteous. It will save people."
Seeing that Mr. Li's illnesses were healed and he had become more energetic, his fellow villagers asked him, "Mr. Li, which doctor healed your illnesses?" Mr. Li humorously replied, "The NTDTV doctor."
Mr. Li's experience is now well known in the village, and many others installed satellite dishes to watch NTDTV.
Since just prior to the Olympics, people in China have not been able to watch NTDTV because Eutelsat shut down NTDTV's broadcasts into Asia due to CCP interference. Mr. Li solemnly said to his son, "NTDTV is no longer accessible. If you can find another good television channel, then I will watch it. If you can't, that's OK. I'd wouldn't want to watch CCP television shows!"
