(Clearwisdom.net) On February 21, 2008, Ms. Li Songfang, from Jiaoling County, Guangdong Province was arrested by the local police. After searching her home and harassing her family members, the police confiscated some Dafa materials and over 200 yuan in cash.
In March 2008, Ms. Li's father-in-law became seriously ill and very much wanted to see her. Since the police refused to release her, the elderly man passed away without seeing Ms. Li again.
Family members went to the county police department and the 610 Office, asking them to give Ms. Li two days leave so that she could attend the funeral services. But no matter how much the family pleaded, their requests were refused.
Ms. Li was plagued by many illnesses before beginning Falun Gong practice. However, after practicing for less than a month her illnesses disappeared, and she hasn't since needed a single pill. In addition, she has felt good both physically and mentally ever since.
Knowing that Falun Gong was a righteous way and seeing that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was suppressing it, Ms. Li explained the facts about Dafa to anyone who would listen.
In June 2008, the police secretly tried Ms. Li, and illegally sentenced her to four years in the Guangzhou Women's Prison.
Her husband was grief-stricken and found it very difficult to concentrate on his day-to-day life.
