(Clearwisdom.net) Many overseas Chinese people who have seen the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular have commented that the pure truthfulness, compassion, and beauty of the show remind them of home. Mr. Sun, originally from Taiwan and retired from the Toronto City Government, has been in Canada for nearly half a century. Far from his original hometown, Mr. Sun has seen the Divine Performing Arts productions three times. At the intermission, Mr. Sun told the reporter with tears in his eyes that the performance was a consolation for his homesickness and his longing for his traditional culture. He said he believed that the Divine Performing Arts has undertaken a sacred mission to promote and develop traditional Chinese culture by means of artistic performances.
Mr. Sun commented that traditional culture and morality are essential for a nation to survive and evolve. He said that the Cultural Revolution in mainland China destroyed traditional Chinese culture. In Taiwan, traditional culture originally had a rather solid foundation, but regrettably, because of the influence of the Chinese Communist Party, the foundation of the traditional culture has been shaken. Mr. Sun said, "In these circumstances, when the traditional culture is on the brink of ruin, the Divine Performing Arts, composed of a group of overseas Chinese, has initiated this campaign to revive traditional culture in such a beautiful, artistic form. They are doing a great job for the Chinese people."
Mr. Sun remarked, "From my point of view, the show was very good. The performances carried message of kindness, truthfulness, and tolerance. These good principles that people should abide by have been hard to accept in modern times. The Divine Performing Arts has adopted such a vivid stage art form to bring these principles to life and present them to the audience, allowing people's hearts to instinctively sense the beauty and kindness. Their hearts will unconsciously change, just as spring rain moistens all things softly, [those principles will be] easily accepted. I feel it is a sacred mission that the Divine Performing Arts company has launched to promote and develop traditional Chinese culture. Every one of us is responsible for doing our bit in our own way.
"The Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong," he continued, "is ridiculous and unreasonable. There has never been such a thing from ancient times to the present. The persecution of good people for believing in 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance' could only be carried out by the Communist Party, because the Chinese Communist Party is on the side of evil, while Falun Gong is on the side of kindness. The evil side certainly cannot tolerate the existence of kindness. Today, Falun Gong's perseverance is not only for the sake of its own belief, but even more for the conscience of the whole society."
