(Clearwisdom.net) According to a preliminary investigation, numerous Falun Gong practitioners in Panjin City, Liaoning Province were recently illegally arrested. Participating in the early morning arrests on August 30, 2007 were officials from the National Security Bureau and local police stations. The practitioners were taken to the Panjin City Detention Center in Shisanlipu. Two or more police cars were dispatched to each practitioner's home to carry out the arrests.

These officials broke into Falun Gong practitioners' homes between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. that morning, arrested the practitioners and ransacked their homes. They also took money and personal belongings. The police knew the exact location of computers, printers and other equipment, and they carried a list of names and addresses. Once they arrived at the practitioners' homes they demanded, "Bring them [pieces of equipment] out. There is no need for explanation."

The police operated in Panjin City and the Liaohe Oilfield region. It is believed that the police had followed and monitored the practitioners for a long time. Because of the excessive manpower and resources allocated to the arrests, a few non-practitioners who had gone to the Panjin City Police Department, to the Xinglongtai Police Department and other police departments in Xinglongtai and Dawa County on August 30 on personal business were told, "We can't do anything today as no one is here. Everyone has been sent to arrest Falun Gong people."

We now know of perhaps eight practitioners who were arrested, and one practitioner cannot return home because of a police stake out. Below is a brief summary of their encounters.

Mr. Li Fusheng lived in Dabaozi Village in Tianjia Town, Dawa County. Six officials from the Panjin City National Security Bureau and from the Xinglongtai National Security Bureau broke into his home at 6:00 a.m. on August 30 and took him away. They also took the book Zhuan Falun, photographs of Mr. Li Hongzhi [Falun Gong's founder] and a satellite antenna. It was learned that National Security agents were seen near this practitioners' house one week before the arrest.

Practitioner Mr. Meng Qinghui was originally from Heilongjiang Province and worked in Panjin City. He lived with his older sister in a remote region, in suburban Tianjia Town, Dawa City. His home was ransacked at 7:30 a.m. on August 30. Officers in two police cars from the city's National Security Bureau went to his home, and one officer said to Meng Qinghui, "Now bring out the stuff you put in the little room over there! We've been following you for four months. You don't need to say anything. We saw who brought those things to you! We have installed surveillance cameras in every corner of the city, and we can find the footage to identify those people!" They drove off with Meng Qinghui's equipment, which he used to produce Falun Gong truth-clarification materials.

Practitioner Zhang Ying lived in Xinli Town, Dawa County. Officers from the Xinli Town Police Station led officials from the National Security Bureau and from the Xinglongtai National Security Bureau to her home at 7:30 a.m. on August 30. They ransacked it and took computer equipment, printer(s) and Falun Gong books. One officer said, "Everyone saw you guys carrying stuff in and out in broad daylight. We've known about it for a long time. Hurry up and bring [the equipment] out to us! We've also made arrests in Xinglongtai."

Ms. Zhang Hua, in her fifties, is a retired teacher and had taught the children of employees at the Xingong Street Fertilizer Factory School in Xinglongtai, Panjin City. Officials from Panjin City National Security Bureau, from the Xinglongtai National Security Bureau and from the Xingong Police Station ransacked her home early on the morning of August 30 and took her computer equipment, printer(s) and Falun Gong books, among other things.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Yulian, an employee of the No. 3 Factory found her home ransacked when she returned from work on August 30, and 500 yuan cash was missing. Her neighbors told her that officers from the Xingong Police Station had pried the door open and ransacked her home. Someone reportedly overheard the head of the Xingong Police Station asking his subordinate, "Why didn't you arrest Wang Yulian? We haven't met our [arrest] quota yet." Wang Yulian thus could not return home, in order to avoid the police.

Practitioners Mr. Liu Hongpu and his wife Ms. Li Xiufen lived near the Liaohe Oilfield. Liu Hongpu was a technical expert at the Lujing Company and Li Xiufen was a teacher at the No. 1 Xinglong Elementary School. They lived in the Redian Neighborhood District in the Xinglongtai area. Officers from the Qinggong Police Station, from the Panjin City Police Department and from the Xinglongtai National Security Bureau arrested both of them. The persecutors ransacked their home and took computer(s), printer(s), Falun Gong books, and some other things. Their young son is now left home alone.

Practitioner Sun Zhencai from Wanjia Township, Dawa County and practitioner Li Jianguo from Xinglongtai District were also arrested.
