(Clearwisdom.net) Several days ago I met a fellow practitioner who told me a story about advising people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). After hearing the story, I had a deeper understanding of Teacher's words,
"Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in spring;
Righteous thoughts can save the people in this world"("The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos" from Hong Yin Volume II)
The story begins when a Falun Dafa practitioner "clarifies the truth" to a female colleague at work. Since this practitioner had clarified the truth to the colleague many times in the past, she had a good understanding of Falun Dafa. However, when the practitioner advised the colleague to withdraw from the CCP, she did not understand why and indicated that she would not. Sometime later she suddenly told the practitioner, "Please help me withdraw from the CCP!" The practitioner asked the colleague why she had changed her mind. She said mysteriously, "As I was going home last night, I saw a woman writing something on the electric meters when I walked down the hallway. I walked past her slowly so I could see what she had written. On the meters I saw four lines of characters telling people to withdraw from the CCP. I thought to myself at the time, 'This woman is so open and dignified and she is not afraid that I might report her.' As I was thinking this, she turned around and smiled at me gently. My mind went blank, remembering only the smile she had given me. As I went upstairs, I realized that this elderly woman could be arrested and persecuted at any time, and yet she still thinks only of others. Falun Dafa practitioners are truly amazing! As I lay in bed that night, I wondered why they were like this? I finally figured it out and understood that I need to take responsibility for myself. I did not want to be buried along with the CCP when it perishes."
After I heard this story I realized that this one smile had actually saved a life! If that practitioner had turned around and left when she saw someone coming, the result may have been very different. If we remember that Teacher has said that Dafa practitioners are doing the most righteous thing in the universe, and the old forces dare not interfere. We need to have a solid mindset, know that we are doing the most righteous thing, and have no fear. Fear is a result of human attachments. Therefore we ought to remember, "Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in spring." If we have more compassion and eliminate all interference when clarifying the truth, the result will be good.
