When the practitioners set up their booth, the people at the neighboring booth complained about the practitioners' displaying a banner between the two booths. The practitioners apologized to them and removed the banner. The practitioners' kindness seemed to touch their neighbors' heart. They eventually came to say that they were interested in Falun Gong and asked for literature about it.

After the commencement of the activities, the event organizer invited the practitioners to perform the Falun Gong exercises on an open-air stage. Two years ago, the practitioners offered to perform the exercises, but they were turned down. Last year the organizers noticed that there were a lot of people visiting the Falun Gong booth to see the exercise demonstration. This year, they asked for a demonstration so that everyone could see.

Many people visited the booth. A practitioner who was passing out fliers said that while the exercise music played, a crowd gathered around the booth to watch the practitioners do the exercises and many people asked for more information. A Western practitioner said that when holding his hands above his head to do the second set of the exercise, his celestial eye saw all of the audience holding their hands over their heads to do the exercises together in other dimensions.

When the practitioners were demonstrating the exercises, so many people wanted fliers that the practitioners ran out several times. About 7,000 copies of Falun Gong literature were distributed during the activity. In addition, many people signed a petition against the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Many people said that they had heard about Falun Gong from BBC news reports or from the Edinburgh Folk Festival.

Shortly after the noontime, a young Chinese person approached the booth and snatched a large bundle of the materials. He yelled obscenities at the practitioners and tried to tear up the materials. After the police came, the practitioners told the police that the youngster's mind was poisoned by the CCP's propaganda. The police asked the practitioners if they would press charges, the practitioners declined. However, the police still took him away to make sure he does not cause any more trouble.

A man from Argentina told a practitioner that one of his lawyer friends in Argentina was representing Falun Gong practitioners in a lawsuit against a visiting Chinese official. Before leaving, he wished the practitioners good luck.

A mother who came with her child signed the petition against the persecution and then asked her child to sign it, saying that she would bring the materials to her child's teachers.

When the activities came to an end, the organizer said that it was a pleasure for them to have Falun Gong participating in the festival, and that it made the event more successful.
