(Clearwisdom.net) When clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to Chinese people, many refuse to listen simply because they think Falun Gong is involved in politics. This is a very popular opinion among Chinese people who do not yet know the true facts. Let us analyze this view.
Though Falun Gong has neither political motivation nor desire for power, and more and more people realize Falun Gong is not a political organization, there are still many people who do not understand this. These people are viewing Falun Gong practitioners with their own notions and making judgments. After the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brainwashing these people don't believe there are any selfless, good people on this earth. They don't believe there are people who are not interested in power.
In addition, these people focus on the superficial and not on the substance when looking at an issue. They see Falun Gong practitioners constantly appealing. They see Falun Gong flyers, banners and other ways of clarifying the truth. They associate all these activities with politics. They do not see the reality--that Falun Gong does not have a political agenda. As a result, it is very difficult to explain to these people that Falun Gong is not involved in politics.
Nevertheless, no matter whether we can clearly explain if Falun Gong is involved in politics, it is very clear that the term "politics" itself is neutral and cannot be used to determine right or wrong. When looking at politics, then, the key is to decide whether the activity itself is good or bad. In other words, it is not important whether one is involved in politics, it is more important to determine right and wrong.
The CCP claims that persecuting Falun Gong is the "most important politics for the Party." Obviously, any activity by practitioners that opposes the persecution will be viewed as a "big political problem," and naturally people brainwashed by the Party culture will view any anti-persecution activities as political activities. This is the main reason why many Chinese people refuse to accept the truth about Falun Gong.
As a matter of fact, the main reason for their refusal to accept the truth is fear of the CCP, not their judgment of right or wrong. These people refuse to accept the truth because they are afraid of the CCP, not because they think Falun Gong is wrong.
Everyone however must face the issue of right and wrong. When people say Falun Gong is involved in politics, that it threatens the CCP's power, and that the CCP must persecute it, either they did not make the judgment based on right or wrong, or there is no different between right and wrong in their minds. As a result, many people consider it not important to ascertain right from wrong; it is more important only to know who is in power.
When people say, "Of course the CCP will persecute Falun Gong," we should further ask, "Then is it right for the CCP to persecute Falun Gong?" What is the standard to tell whether it is right or wrong? Is it right to persecute anyone as long as you think this person has damaged your benefits?
In this society, the existence of a bad person will make good people feel threatened, and, similarly, the existence of a good person will make bad people feel threatened. Falun Gong promotes "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and this naturally makes the CCP, which promotes violence and schemes, feel threatened. Does this then mean we can say it is right for the CCP to persecute?
The key is to tell righteousness from evil, tell who is right and who is wrong, and not argue about who gets involved in politics.
We do not get involved in politics. In order to eliminate people's misunderstandings and vigilance against anyone's "getting involved in politics," we could explain to people that Falun Gong does not get involved in politics. If it is truly difficult to explain, it is all right for people to believe that we get involved in politics, but we should ask them the questions, "Who is right or wrong? Who is good or bad?" We hope people can tell right from wrong, good from bad.
It is easy to tell right from wrong, yet many people do not bother to ascertain this with their hearts. These people treat the persecution as a "natural" phenomenon. I believe most people can tell right from wrong if they are willing.
For example, we could ask how a government or a party could persecute more than 100 million good people simply because they want to practice exercises that helped them gain health? Is it right for a party to persecute thousands of people to death in order to address its fear of losing power? Isn't it a shame for a party to publicly lie to the whole world? Is it right for a government to lie publicly to keep its power? Are these righteous ways to reduce threats?
Because Falun Gong practitioners outnumbered the CCP members, the CCP felt threatened. Does this mean the CCP should eliminate Falun Gong by any means? Shouldn't a party win people by improving itself, rather than by eliminating others like the Mafia does? Isn't it easy to tell who is right and who is wrong in this situation? If you were the CCP leader, would you choose to persecute? Would you make the same mistakes the CCP made? Would you use every device possible just to keep your power? Everyone should ask themselves these questions.
People should not bother about whether Falun Gong will have power over the Chinese government. As long as Falun Gong is good, it is good for China, isn't it? It has been proven that the CCP is evil. No matter who comes out to against it, Falun Gong or others, the CCP seeks to eliminate it. It isn't good, is it? It is not hard to tell the good from bad, right from wrong.
Once people can tell right from wrong, then other issues are not that important. Whether Falun Gong is involved in politics, whether Falun Gong is a religion. If it is hard to explain, we should not argue the details at all.
