One day I took the bus to work. I was wearing earphones to listen to Teacher's Fa lectures. My earphone cord got caught on the zip of a young Japanese person's suitcase when he was trying to get off the bus. The bus door was about to close so I had to follow him off the bus. When I stood at the bus stop, I was quite upset and in my heart, I was complaining about him, that he was in such a hurry getting off the bus and that got me into trouble. I pulled the cord very hard, trying to get it out.

Another bus came and left. Both of us tried everything but we couldn't get out the cord. We had to go to the ticket box and ask for help. The attendant found some tools and leaned over and carefully tried to pull out the cord. However, the cord was so tightly stuck. The attendant put down his tools and we looked at each other, not knowing what to do.

Fifteen minutes had passed and I was going to be late for work. At that time, I remembered what Teacher said about how we need to look inside when there are troubles. Then I came to realize that it was my mistake. I didn't pay enough respect to Teacher when I simply let the earphone cord drift about in a crowded bus. I didn't pay enough respect to other people on the bus either.

After I looked inside, I was able to sincerely apologize to that young Japanese guy. Just then, the attendant touched the cord and it suddenly came out of the zip. I was so moved. We tried everything and we couldn't fix the issue. Yet, the problem was solved when I made an apology.

Teacher said,"In true cultivation you have to cultivate your mind, you have to cultivate inward, to look inward--you can't look outward." (Zhuan Falun) When we look inside, we will see our xinxing problems. What happened on my way to work was a test on my enlightenment quality from Teacher. When we have any troubles, should we only think about ourselves or should we consider others first? When we look inside, any difficult issues can be solved at once.
