Officials in the Jianyang City Education System have cruelly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.
On November 17, 2007, officials at the Education Bureau once again colluded
with the 610 Office and issued "Document No. 37 issued by
Jianyang Education Bureau CCP Committee (2007)." The main point of the
document is to coerce the teachers and students in Jianyang City to study
materials made by the Central 610 Office defaming Falun Gong.
After this document was issued, education bureau officials and those from the
610 Office went looking for Falun Gong practitioners to try to force them to
write the Three Statements. Many practitioners were repeatedly
harassed.
Mr. Zhang Chenliang is a 50-year-old elementary school teacher who is well
respected by his students and colleagues. Railway policemen arrested him in 2005
for practicing Falun Gong and carrying Falun Gong materials. Mr. Zhang has been
relentlessly harassed and persecuted for the past two years.
Recently, education bureau officials colluding with officials from the 610
Office paid Mr. Zhang Chengliang a visit and tried to force him to write the
"Three Statements" to renounce Falun Gong. Moreover, they demanded
that he slander Falun Gong in the school's teachers and faculty conference. When
Mr. Zhang refused, he was sent to a brainwashing center.
