The following practitioners are being unlawfully held at the Jinzhou Forced Labor Institute: Mr. Li Lianjun, Mr. Liu Yuan, Mr. Li Kai, Mr. Wang Zhigang, Mr. Zhao Erxun, Mr. Zhang Guohai, Mr. Liu Tiekui, and Mr. Zhao Zengqiang. Mr. Li Lianjun and Mr. Liu Yuan refused to sit on a hard board and have been handcuffed for two weeks. Visits from their families have been disallowed for two months.
Practitioners held at the labor institute are allowed to go outdoors for leisure only once or twice a month. On each occasion, guards are assigned to follow and monitor the practitioners closely.

Ms. Ren Jinhui, 63, is a practitioner in Dakanxi Village, Mancheng County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. At 10:00 p.m. on October 15, 2007, Cai Tao (male) and other officers from the Bailong Township Judiciary Office took her to the Bailong Township Police Station. The officers then transferred her to the Mancheng County Detention Center. Ms. Ren was held there for two weeks before she was released.

Practitioner Ms. Song Xiujing has been unlawfully held at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Recently, she had a blood pressure reading of 260/140. Despite the high blood pressure reading, the labor camp authorities still refuse to release her.

During the Communist Party's 17th National Congress (in mid-October 2007), local police officers took Ms. Chen Xianying into custody while she was working in a farm field. 7. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xiu Jinqiu Taken into Custody
On the morning of October 14, 2007, while Ms. Xiu Jinqiu was clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in public, two elementary school students turned her in to the police. Officers of the Guangji Police Station in Yuanbao District took her into custody. On October 30, the police took Ms. Xiu to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term despite her extremely poor physical condition.

8. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Yanwei Unlawfully Sentenced to Forced Labor
On the evening of September 30, 2007, Ms. He Yanwei, a practitioner in Shalang Town, Maoming City, Guangdong Province, was unlawfully taken into custody. Ms. He has been on a hunger strike. On November 1, she was transferred to the Maoming Detention Center. When her mother went to visit her, she was extremely weak. On the afternoon of November 2, she was transferred to the Sanshui Forced Labor to serve 15 months of forced labor. Her family has been denied visits for a month and they are allowed to send in clothes or anything else.

On October 28, 2007, three practitioners in Wuchang City were turned in to the police while they were clarifying the truth. The three practitioners are now being held at the Wuchang City Detention Center.

Prior to the opening of the Communist Party's 17th National Congress in mid-October 2007, Ms. Zhao Yulin, a retired accountant of the Guangdong Province Alloy Model and Material Factory, was taken into custody by officers of the Nanhai District Police Department, of the Dali Town Police Station, and of the Xiangji Police Division in Foshan City. The police still refuse to release Ms. Zhao.

11. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Recent Situations of Practitioners Arrested in November 2006
Ms. Wen Suyan has been unlawfully sentenced to seven years in prison; Ms. Dong Aiying, sentenced to five years; Ms. Zhang Shuzhi, four years; Ms. Zhang Yan, three and a half years; Ms. Li Yukun, three years. Caiyun and her mother have been sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. Ruilian (female) was sentenced to one year of forced labor in October 2007, and she is now on bail pending trial. The other five practitioners have been sentenced to one year of forced labor each. Practitioners sentenced to prison have filed appeals.

13. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Ms. Liang Yugui's Experiences
Ms. Liang Yugui, who is in her fifties, lives by herself in a rented room in the family quarters of Jidong Glass Factory. On the morning of November 4, 2007, her son went to visit her and found her lying on the ground. Her face and body were bruised, and a patch of her scalp was ripped off. She had scars on her hand as a result of being beaten. Her clothes and pants were pulled halfway off. Water ran from the faucet and spilled onto the ground. Ms. Liang's body had started to stiffen. Her son immediately dialed the 110 emergency police and the medical number for Jidong County. There was no help. He had to take his mother to his home.
Prior to this incident, practitioner Ms. Zhang Fengkuan tried to clarify the truth to Ms. Liang Yugui's ex-husband, Li Delin, on October 24. Li did not want to listen and turned Ms. Zhang in to the police. An officer in Jidong County took Ms. Zhang into custody. Ms. Liang Yugui went to the Jidong County No. 1 Police Station and to the Domestic Security Division asking for the release of the Ms. Zhang. The officers dodged their responsibility and refused to release Ms. Zhang.
14. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Dapeng Held in a Small Cell--His Family Denied Visits
[Note on being locked in a small cell: One is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position in such a way that the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. One has to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night rats run around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.]
15. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Ding Shengli Taken to a Brainwashing Center after Serving Six Years of an Unlawful Prison Term
Mr. Ding Shengli, a practitioner in the Hongshan District, Chifeng City, was unlawfully sentenced to six years in prison on November 6, 2001. He was held in the Chifeng Prison in Inner Mongolia. When his term ended on November 6, 2007, he was taken to the Hongshan District Brainwashing Center by members of the Hongshan District 610 Office and officials of the Xitun Street Neighborhood Administration Office in the Hongshan District.
16. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Mr. Zhang Zuohe, His Wife, and Another Practitioner Taken into Custody
On November 3, 2007, the police took practitioners Mr. Zhang Zuohe and his wife into custody at their home in Zhigou Town, Zhucheng City. At around 3:00 p.m. on November 7, the police took Ms. Li Yufang, a practitioner in Dazhusupu Village in Shiqiaozi Town, into custody.
17. [Shanghai] Practitioner Ms. Lu Jinfen Taken into Custody
On September 27, 2007, Mr. Lu Jinquan was taken into custody. His sister ,Ms. Lu Jinfen, was subsequently taken into custody as well.
18. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Hu Yan Taken to Wangzhuang Brainwashing Center
It was been reported recently that Ms. Hu Yan, an employee of the Zibo Battery Factory, was secretly taken away by the Zibo 610 Office prior to the opening of the Communist Party's 17th National Congress in mid-October 2007. She is being held in the Wangzhuang Brainwashing Center in Zibo City.
Ms. Hu had been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Her husband died at an early age. She has to raise a child, who is only about 10 years old, and she has experienced financial difficulties.

20. [Beijing] Practitioners Zhao Haiying and Spouse Li Heting in Custody for Over a Month
Zhao Haiying and Li Heting, his wife, from the Xicheng District of Beijing, were taken into custody by officers of the Domestic Security Division of the police department and officers of the Erlong Road Police Station over a month ago. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
21. [Hebei Province] Persecution of Practitioners in the Tangshan Steel Group Company Ltd.
Since 1999, practitioners in Tangshan Steel Group Company Ltd. have suffered various degrees of persecution. Some were forced to change to different jobs, some were laid off, some were deprived of opportunities for promotion, or had their salaries and bonuses unreasonably suspended.
22. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Situations of Ms. Ma Yongyan and Other Practitioners
On the morning of October 28, 2007, Ms. Ma Yongyan was unlawfully taken into custody by the 610 Office of the Jinchuan Company Police Division while she was at work. On the morning of October 31, her home was searched. Officers of the Xinhua Police Station forcibly took a practitioner with the last name Jiang (gender unknown) into custody while Jiang was heading to work. The police then searched Jiang's home. At 9:00 a.m. on October 31, Ms. Yang Chengmei went to the management office of the residential community to pay utility fees. She was taken into custody by officers of the Binhe Road Police Station. The officers then searched Ms. Yang's home. Practitioners were taken to the Jinchang City Drug Rehabilitation Center. They were handcuffed in an unheated room. At 8:30 p.m. on October 31, some practitioners were transferred to the Drug Rehabilitation Center in Jinchuan Company. Others were taken to the Jinchang City Detention Center.
23. [Pingba County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Sun Yue and Ms. Du Meiyun Unlawfully Held in Custody
Ms. Sun Yue and Ms. Du Meiyun are practitioners in Liyang Factory in Pingba County. On October 19, 2007, they were taken into custody by officers of the Pingba Police Department in Tianlong Town, Pingba County. Ms. Sun and Ms. Du are being held at the Pingba County Detention Center.

24. [Qian'an County, Hebei Province] Recent Persecution of Practitioners in Qian'an County
Since October 1, 2007, about 20 practitioners have been held in custody. The police confiscated over twelve sets of television antennas along with DVD players, personal computers, and television sets. Seven practitioners face forced labor terms.
The following practitioners are being held at the Qian'an County: Ms. Cui Qingru, Ms. Duan Linxia and her husband, Ms. Liu Wei (the pregnant daughter of Ms. Duan), Mr. Yuan Chenglin, Mr. Wang Xiaoping, Ms. Li Yankui, Ms. Zhao Minghua and her husband, Ms. Zhou Huizhong, Mr. Liu Guo and his wife (Mr. Liu Guo is not a practitioner; he was released after 5,000 yuan in cash was extorted from him), Ms. Wang Yanqin, and a practitioner with the last name of Wei (gender unknown).
These practitioners are being held in the Qian'an City Brainwashing Center: Ms. Wang Weiyue, Mr. Ma Jingchuan, and a practitioner with the last name of Wen (gender unknown).
On October 9, 2007, practitioner Mr. Wang Yonghong was taken into custody while he was at work in the Industrial and Commerce Bank. In the afternoon, he was shocked with electric batons. Early next morning, he was found to have fallen from the fourth floor. He was lying on the pedestrian walkway and could not move. Mr. Wan was taken to the the Qian'an City People's Hospital. Medical examinations indicated that he suffered severe fractures to his feet, spine, and lower back. He has been operated on twice and put in a brace. Injuries from electric shocks were found all over his body.
Ms. Wen Qingfang, Ms. Li Hongmei, and Ms. Li Qingsong have been released. They had refused to comply with the persecution by going on hunger strikes and were extremely weak physically.
25. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Tang Baoquan Manages to Escape with Righteous Thoughts
At around 12:30 p.m. on November 3, 2007, eight or nine officers from the Malianzhuang Town Police Station in Laixi City arrived in two police vehicles at practitioner Mr. Tang Baoquan's home in Xiejiagouzi Village in Malianzhuang Town. The police tried to take Mr. Tang into custody. Mr. Tang managed to escape the confrontation.
26. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Young Practitioner with Last Name Luan Taken into Custody
On November 4, 2007, a young practitioner with the last name of Luan (gender unknown) was taken into custody by Domestic Security officers in Anlu City. The practitioner is being held in Anlu City Detention Center.
27. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Persecution of Practitioners Mr. Zhao Hongbo and Ms. Cui Shufang
In July 2007, Mr. Zhao Hongbo was taken into custody by the Jiancaoping Police Department. Mr. Zhao remains in custody at the Chaicun Detention Center.
In May 2007, Ms. Cui Shufang was taken into custody by the Yangqu County Police Department. She was unlawfully held at the Taiyuan City Detention Center for a month before being released. At the end of October 2007, Ms. Cui was again taken into custody by the Yangqu County Police Department. She has been unlawfully sentenced to one year of forced labor and is being held at the Taiyuan City Forced Labor Camp in Shanxi Province.
28. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Yu Persecuted in Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp
In 1999, Ms. Fu Yu was dismissed by her work unit for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. In 2002 and 2003 she was forced to leave town with no place to stay. In June 2003, the police caught her and sentenced her to three years of forced labor. In September 2005, the labor camp authorities suddenly notified her family to send cash. Her family was denied any visits prior to this notice. It turned out that Ms. Fu had developed a severe anal fistula and anemia. There are ulcers on both of her legs. Ms. Fu's family asked for medical parole. The labor camp authorities have rejected her family's request and extorted 5,000 yuan in cash from them instead.

Since March 28, 2007, Ms. Ma Qingli and Ms. Chen Qinglian from the Shangjie District have been unlawfully held in the Sanlizhuang Detention Center in Xingyang City, Henan Province. Ms. Ma, around 36 years old, does odd jobs for a living. Ms. Chen, in her fifties, is retired from the Shangjie District Cement Factory. Recently, Ms. Chen was sentenced to one year in prison. She remains in the Sanlizhuang Detention Center. Ms. Ma was sentenced to three years in prison and has been transferred to the Xinxiang City Women's Prison. Ms. Ma had been on a hunger strike when she was taken to the detention center and was then sent to a hospital for force-feeding.
31. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Zhiyong Taken to Jilin Prison
On the morning of October 26, 2007, Mr. Li Zhiyong went to the Baiju Road Police Station to process his residential identification card. Police took him to an undisclosed location. After an extensive search by his family, he was found to be unlawfully held at the No. 3 Ward in Jilin Prison.
32. [Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Ms. Yu Min Taken to Jiamusi City Detention Center
At around 10:00 a.m. on November 7, 2007, officers from the Dongfeng Police Department, led by a deputy chief with the last name of Meng (gender unknown), took Ms. Yu Min and her younger sister, Ms. Yu Qun, into custody at a pharmacy operated by Ms. Yu Min's family. The police tried to take the personal computer which is used for business in the store, but Ms. Yu's family prevented them.
Ms. Yu Min has been taken to the Jiamusi City Detention Center. Ms. Yu Qun has returned home.

Ms. Zhou has been held at the Daqing City No. 5 Detention Center, where she has developed ulcer sall over her body as a result of persecution. Officials of the judiciary system in Daqing City are planning to sentence Ms. Zhou to prison.

Without following any legal procedures, the authorities have sentenced Mr. Liu Guiyou, Ms. Liu Gaoju, Mr. Yu Jianming, a physician with the last name Cai (gender unknown), Ms. Huang Chaofeng, Mr. Yu Xinfei, Ms. Duan Shiying, Ms. Li Yuzhen, and Mr. Tang Zhong to forced labor.
37. [Tianjin] Large Number of Practitioners Held in Gangbei Prison
A large number of practitioners have been unlawfully held in the Gangbei Prison in Tianjin. Some have been held there for seven or eight years. Prior to the opening of the Communist Party's 17th National Congress in mid-October 2007, practitioners were forced to engage in excessive forced labor. In the evening hours, they were subjected to brainwashing. When their families visit them, guards designated to monitor practitioners are present. Nothing other than cash can be brought into the prison.
