The march proceeded through a market where local Chinese often go to buy vegetables on weekends. The marchers lined up opposite the market, holding banners in both Chinese and English. The messages on the banners included "Support the 26 million people who quit the CCP organizations," "Call on the international community to comprehensively investigate the CCP's forced labor camps," "The great tide of quitting the CCP is disintegrating the CCP," "Condemn the Arrest of Lawyer Gao Zhisheng," and "Love our Chinese nation, follow heaven's will to disintegrate the CCP."

This was the first time that such a march was held in this area, and it drew a lot of attention from the local people. The banners carrying messages regarding "the CCP harvests organs from living Falun Gong practitioners" shocked whoever saw them. At the two exits of the market, people had the opportunity to see display boards assembled by the Service Center for Quitting the CCP.

When the march passed by an Indian grocery store, the owner said that he was quite shocked at the CCP's harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He said it is absolutely not allowed in India. He also believes that sports are activities held in a peaceful environment, and that in China where the Olympic Games are going to be held, there should not be such a thing happening.

An older couple from Fujian said in an interview that they witnessed the great damage and devastation during the anti-rightists campaign in mainland China. They said that they have been in New Zealand for four months, and have read reports on Falun Gong in the Epoch Times newspaper. They also said that similar march would be impossible to hold in mainland China.

A Chinese man who was born in New Zealand said he knows the Communist Party is bad, and nobody likes it.

Inside the market, volunteers for the Service Center for Quitting the CCP explained to Chinese people why they should quit the CCP and how the CCP has destroyed the Chinese people's humanity and so on. Many people listened and understood, and asked the volunteers to help them quit the CCP. Volunteers said they handed out many flyers in both Chinese and English. They hoped that their Chinese compatriots can be more objective, and allow themselves an opportunity to learn about the truth.
