(Clearwisdom.net) As a tourist attraction, Lucerne is a city that visitors to Switzerland would not miss. Naturally, it also attracts droves of Chinese tourists, especially recently. We enlightened to the understanding that the influx of Chinese tourists is a good opportunity arranged by Master for saving the precious Chinese people. In the past we could not even find so many Chinese. Now they walk right in front of us. We should take good advantage of this opportunity.
Summer is the peak of the tourist season. In groups of two, practitioners came to Lucerne’s city center to clarify the truth, spread the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, urge renouncement from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and expose the CCP’s atrocities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit. Many Chinese tourists were shocked. In various ways, people expressed support for Falun Gong and condemned the CCP’s crimes.
1. Clarify the Truth, Spread the Nine Commentaries, and Save Sentient Beings
We divided the tasks and coordinated with each other. Some prepared large quantities of the Epoch Times Special Edition to expose the organ harvesting, the Nine Commentaries, and Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. Some practitioners printed important up-to-date information from the Internet to promptly supply fellow practitioners who clarified the truth.
When we saw Chinese, tourists we would step forward cordially to greet them and then offer them the truth-clarification materials. Most people were receptive, even saying, "Thanks." Some tour guides were also supportive. When the tour guide was not supportive, we would clarify the truth to them. Often many listened quietly.
Due to the evil party’s deceit and control, some wanted to listen to the truth but dared not, wanted to take the materials but dared not openly. Understanding this psychology, practitioners would tactfully offer the Nine Commentaries when groups were dispersed. Normally they would quickly pocket the materials. Otherwise, practitioners would urge them to take advantage of this rare opportunity of coming abroad rather than to regret it later on. Chinese tourists were also informed of the large number of withdrawals from the CCP, and the fact that Heaven is eliminating the CCP and that withdrawing from it brings peace and good fortune. Once they understood, they would take the informational materials.
Among the Chinese tourists, there were ordinary citizens, officials, policemen, clerks and businessmen, the elderly as well as children.
We would clarify the truth according to different circumstances. For those who did not know much about Falun Gong, we would tell them the benefits of Falun Gong from our own or fellow practitioner’s experiences. For example, once I started from my own experience with a group of tourists from northeastern China. I told them that before practicing cultivation, I suffered from all kinds of illnesses. I sought medication everywhere in and outside of the country but nothing worked. Every day I consumed medicines instead of meals and often had to use a cane. Being in poor health, I was also easily irritable. Life was so miserable. Merely fifty days after I started to practice Falun Gong, I felt energized. All my illnesses were miraculously cured. Two years ago, I walked a two-thousand-three-hundred meter high mountain on my own. My body was returning to youth. Now I am almost seventy but feel very strong. Moreover, Falun Gong practitioners try to become better persons according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." My disposition became more and more relaxed. Now I live an ever happier life. At this point the crowd’s attention turned to me, saying, "You don’t look your age, you look like you are in your fifties."
A young man then shouted repeatedly, "Falun Dafa is good!" With his shouts, everyone took the Nine Commentaries and truth-clarification materials. I then continued, "Such a good practice is being persecuted by the evil CCP. The persecution includes the staged self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square, framing Falun Gong with Fu Yibin murder case, and harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit, etc." They all listened quietly. I urged them, "Read the Nine Commentaries." The young man said that he had done so already. I asked, "Do you need help quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations?" Some said that they had renounced in their hearts long time ago. Some said, "We are way too old." I told them they must declare the renouncement. "When you joined the Party you made a deadly pledge to that blood-red flag, you said that you would give your life to it. Heaven is eliminating the CCP. If you do not declare your renouncement publicly, you are a part of it. If you declare, the mark left by the evil Party organizations will be erased. Please quit the Party to ensure your safety and good fortune." The young man said, "Let me think about it." I said, "You can use a nickname, other name or pen name to quit on the Epoch Times website or post your declaration at public places such as on walls or trees." Quite a few heard this and said, "Thank you."
There were also instances where people wanted to quit the CCP immediately after learning the truth. Once I was clarifying the facts and exposing the evil CCP to a middle-aged woman from Beijing. Taking my hands, she said, "You are really nice. What you told me could not be heard in China. The CCP is really bad. The Nine Commentaries and truth-clarification materials are so good." She went on to say, "What you are doing is great." I asked her whether she was a member of the Party, the Youth League or the Young Pinoneer. She replied, "Yes, all of them." I urged her to quit all of them. She agreed readily, "Please give me a nick name and help me declare my renouncement."
Many times tourists told us that they had read the Nine Commentaries in other countries. It was then much easier to urge them to quit the CCP. Once, a fellow practitioner met a group of fellow-townsmen by chance, who said they had read the Nine Commentaries in France. This fellow practitioner then started with the large number of people quitting the CCP and the persecution suffered by Falun Gong. He told how his own mother was illegally detained for practicing Falun Gong. Those tourists listened quietly. Later ,several indicated they wanted to quit the CCP. One of them said happily before leaving, "Thank you for helping me quit the Communist Youth League." Dafa disciples all over the world are clarifying the truth and spreading the Nine Commentaries. The tourists that renounced the CCP with our help had possibly been told the truth and given the Nine Commentaries by fellow practitioners in other places, while those who listened to the truth from us might renounce the CCP later, with the help of other practitioners.
When clarifying the truth, the power of righteous thoughts is boundless. Once we saw five apparently important Chinese officials shopping for watches. Two practitioners sent righteous thoughts to them. When they were just about to enter another watch shop, we stepped forward to offer them our truth-clarification materials. They refused them furiously, calling us traitors. We replied calmly, "We are not traitors; we love our country, the land that gave birth to us and raised us. But we do not love the Communist Party." Upon hearing this, they went in another watch shop. We continued sending forth righteous thoughts. We recited silently Master’s new article, "For the Good of the World,"
Make clear the truth,
and drive off foul spirits.
Spread widely the Nine Commentaries,
and the wicked Party shall fade.
With righteous thoughts,
save the world's people.
I just don't believe their consciences
are irretrievably lost.
At this point the tour guide came over. Recognizing him, I started to clarify the truth to the guide. I said, "Young man, your work is very important. I see that your clients are all officials, who are deeply poisoned by the evil CCP. You have to do your best to urge them to read the Nine Commentaries. Heaven is eliminating the CCP. Renouncement will guarantee peace and good fortune. Better believe it than not believe it." The tour guide said, "I have nothing against you Falun Gong. You brought Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong to global public trial, which was the most gratifying to the people. But why do you have to overthrow the CCP?" I replied, "It’s not that we want to overthrow the CCP, it is falling apart on its own. You have not read the Nine Commentaries, have you? Once you read the Nine Commentaries, you will see the CCP for what it really is." After hearing this, the tour guide went into the shop and said something to the officials. When they came out one after another, they seemed a lot more relaxed. We continued with truth clarification, exposing how the CCP mixes loving the Party with loving the country to confuse people's minds. We told them that through its fifty-odd years in power, the CCP has killed more than eighty million people. It even harvests organs from living people for profit. The officials were shocked upon hearing this. We continued to tell them the importance of renouncing the CCP and urged them to read the Nine Commentaries. The first three that come out of the watch shop took leaflets and the Nine Commentaries. The other two beckoned me over to ask for materials. A fellow practitioner offered two copies of the Nine Commentaries in small print, which they immediately pocketed.
Other than spreading the Nine Commentaries at tourist attractions, we also take advantage of all kinds of everyday opportunities to clarify the truth, spread the Nine Commentaries, and urge people to renounce the CCP. The following is just one little story.
A Chinese company’s manager came to Switzerland to visit relatives. I told him the facts about Falun Gong and the healing miracle that happened to me after cultivation. "Such a wonderful practice is however persecuted by the evil CCP. Falun Gong practitioners suffer all kinds of torture, even murder. Recently it was verified that the CCP harvests organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit." Stunned at hearing this, he said, "How brutal! It’s way too malicious to treat its own people like this." I continued, "The CCP has done things that are hated by both man and gods. Good and evil are rewarded accordingly. Even if people do not eliminate it, heaven will eliminate it. Now, more than twelve million people have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. If you are a member of the evil party's organizations, you need to quit promptly." He said that he was an unwilling member of all three CCP organizations. I said, "Here, read the Nine Commentaries. Quit the CCP. Renouncement will guarantee your safety." He said that he would get back to me after reading the Nine Commentaries. A week later, he returned with his girlfriend. He asked me to declare a renouncement for him from all three organizations, and for his girlfriend as well.
He also told me his brother and sister-in-law used to work for the 610 Office in China. Once they went to Beijing to escort back a Falun Gong practitioner who had gone to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. The practitioner was a professor. He clarified the truth of Falun Gong on the train, which caused a sensation throughout the carriage, attracting everyone’s attention. Even his brother and sister-in-law were fascinated to the point where they forgot their mission. On their return, they vowed never to do this kind of thing again. I said, "Not only did you learn the truth and declare your renouncement, you also have an opportunity to do something good. You can give this piece of good news to your brother and sister-in-law and urge them to quit the CCP." He promised he would do his best when he returned to China.
On rare occasions we also encountered Chinese tourists with a bad attitude. But this did not deter our truth clarification to them. One fellow was a policeman. When I clarified the facts to him, he said ferociously, "Do not talk to me. Do you know what I do for a living?" I said, "It doesn’t matter what you do. Whatever you do, you can be a good person." He said, "I am with the Public Security Bureau. I arrest people for a living." As he stood by a watch shop, he held up a watch and said, "Do you know, this watch can act as a handcuff." I replied, "You do not scare me. In fact, I really have your interest at heart. As a policeman you should protect good people. You are committing a crime if you arrest good people." He ordered me to leave. I said, "There is freedom in Switzerland. We Falun Gong practitioners are protected by the law. This is not China. From your actions, I can see that you should really have a good read of the Nine Commentaries. Later, you will see the CCP for what it really is." He said, "Every one of us here today is from the Public Security system." I saw them listening to truth clarification from fellow practitioners, about the healing powers and magnificence of Dafa. Some said, "We also know of the miraculous healing powers of Falun Gong. It is indeed good. But you can practice at home. Why would you go public?" Fellow practitioner answered, "We also would like to practice at home. But the CCP persecutes Falun Gong, slanders and frames innocent people. How could we stand by and not come out to say a word in fairness? We go out to let people know the truth." When offered them leaflets, and some of them accepted.
2. Looking Inward While Saving Sentient Beings, Rectifying Oneself Within the Fa
Once when distributing the Nine Commentaries, I ran into a man who kept asking all kinds of questions, including where I was from. At the time I was somewhat annoyed. I answered, "This is not important. What’s important is for you to read the Nine Commentaries and to learn the truth." He then started to curse in foul language. Losing my cool, I questioned him loudly, retorted hot-headedly, and spoke in an extreme way. The effect was rather negative. Some of those who took leaflets gave them back. I realised I did not do well. I used human methods to fight and reason irrationally with an ordinary person. My heart was heavy with embarrassment. On the way home I quietly tried to regain composure and look inward. At home, I studied Master’s "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference":
Question: While clarifying the truth, some students aren't coolheaded and they speak in an extreme way.
Teacher: Dafa disciples should do everything cool-headedly and with Shan thoughts. Whether you're clarifying the truth to people or participating in an activity, you should always have people see the goodness and kindness of Dafa disciples. Absolutely don't do anything that's too extreme. When you save beings and clarify the truth, if you speak in an extreme way it won't have a positive effect. That's because when you lack Shan you won't disintegrate the evil elements that exist in the minds of those people who have been poisoned, so you won't be able to achieve a positive effect.
I've told you before that Shan isn't something pretended, nor is it a state that's just maintained on the surface. Shan truly comes from within and can only be attained and embodied through cultivation. When you're before sentient beings, as soon as words come out of your mouth and as soon as your thoughts emerge, they are able to disintegrate bad elements and the bad things that poison the world's people and that exist in people's minds. And then people will come to understand, and you'll be able to save them. Without the mighty power of true Shan at work, you won't be able to disintegrate those things, and you won't achieve anything in clarifying the truth. Those who do things in an extreme way, in particular, let me tell you that it absolutely won't have a positive effect. That's because the abilities you've acquired in cultivation won't manifest, and your Shan won't manifest. So, while doing anything, don't have any combative thoughts, that's wrong. Don't go to extremes, even when you go to the consulates and embassies."
My heart lightened as I understood the truth from the standpoint of the Fa. I said to Master, I made a mistake, which I will definitely correct next time.
The next day Master gave me a chance to do things right. I came across an elderly couple. I spoke respectfully with a smile, "Greetings, dear sir. Please have a look at this leaflet." The couple immediately sulked, "Falun Gong, isn’t it?" I replied that some were Falun Gong related while others were not. They said, "Go away, you are not Chinese. You are a disgrace to the Chinese people." I replied, "Don’t be angry. I am Chinese but I have done nothing to be ashamed of. Out of good intentions I give you leaflets free of charge. I have done nothing wrong." Flushed with agitation, they cursed, "Traitor!" With a smile I appeased them, "It’s not easy for you to come abroad. Don’t get angry. It’s not worth it to risk your health with rage at your age." At this point about twenty people gathered around, all talking at once. Some accused Falun Gong of not letting people take medication. Some referred to the self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square. Everybody tried to get a word in. With good humour I told them that those were all lies fabricated by the CCP. In fact, Falun Gong has never prevented people from taking medication. Seeing so many people gathering around, I felt genuinely that this was a good opportunity for clarifying the facts and exposing the evil. This moment was indeed precious beyond measure. Consequently I told them the benefits of Dafa and how it spread around the world. I exposed the CCP’s slander and persecution of Falun Gong, especially the atrocities of organ harvesting.
One guy shouted, "Don’t get her started. She’s on a roll." With this, everybody shut up. A young man looking-on asked, "Who’s right and who’s wrong after arguing for so long?" I replied, "One standard alone determines right or wrong. That is, Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Following this principle is right." The young man said, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are right." Looking around, I saw a big group of people listening to my truth clarification. Afterwards they all took leaflets. I was truly happy for these people who learned the truth.
The reason why I could face their abuse with good humour and a calm and peaceful frame of mind was because I knew that they were deeply poisoned by the CCP and did not know the truth. With a heart of saving people, I wanted to tell them the truth. As such, my heart was not moved. I clarified the facts cool-headedly and eloquently, knowing very well this was an opportunity Master gave me for cultivating tolerance and benevolence. Thank you, Master.
There was another incident. It takes me two hours round trip by train to get to the tourist attraction. Quite often, it was cloudy or rainy before I left home. But with righteous thoughts, the weather would turn well immediately. Once it started to rain as soon as I left home. On the train I kept sending righteous thoughts, asking Master to help. Upon arriving at the destination, the rain was replaced with blue sky and sunshine. I was very pleased with myself, thinking my righteous thoughts were so effective. As soon as I put a big package of truth-clarification materials on the ground, before I even had a chance to unload my backpack, I saw many Chinese tourists coming off of a big bus. Hurrying over to distribute leaflets, I found, on my return, that the truth-clarification materials on the ground had gone missing. I realised this was evil’s interference. But I also had an attachment, which was taken advantage of by the evil. Looking inward, I found that I had strong attachments of being overjoyed as well as validating myself. I started to send righteous thoughts. Suddenly I saw a big dumpster for old newspapers and magazines nearby. Opening it up, I saw the truth-clarification materials. I asked for help and got them out.
From this incident, I enlightened that it was not my power that changed the weather. It was Master who did it. It was the power of righteous thoughts and the benevolence of Master. "Disciples’ righteous thoughts are strong; Master has the power to turn the tide." (Master-Disciple Grace, Hong Yin, Volume II).
