(Clearwisdom.net) We are a group of university students; some of us have graduated and some are about to graduate. In years past, we were a simple-minded bunch who had been living in a complex, lie-infested society. Every day, we groped around in a dark, gloomy, terror-stricken world trying to find new direction. When the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party came into our lives, everything started to change.

I am still studying at the university. About two years ago. I was very angry with the crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) against the people in China, while at about the same time, I was coaxed into joining the party. I was utterly confused. Then, at the end of 2004, one of my aunts handed me a copy of the Nine Commentaries. She said, "Read this book. It is good for you and your university friends. Do you know that lots of people have withdrawn from the CCP?"

Out of curiosity, I accepted the book. As soon as I sat down to read, I could not put it down. In the matter of only a few hours, I went from feeling suspicious of the contents, to being shocked and terrified, then furious at the brutality of the CCP, and I finally awakened to the truth. Every word in the Nine Commentaries astounded me. Finally, when I finished reading, I quickly sat down and submitted my party membership withdrawal. All of a sudden, I seemed to have molted into a new life.

Despite the CCP's cover-ups, its beast-like behavior still has a strong influence on our minds. Although many people are still ignorant of their crimes, all of my friends know the untold stories not mentioned in our high school history book. People of high integrity have protested by staging hunger strikes, hoping to change the system. There are also righteous people, youths, as well as Falun Dafa practitioners who have given their lives for the same purpose. Under the communist regime, society is only going downhill and there are no signs of changing. Now, the Nine Commentaries have helped people walk away from their uncertainty and delusion, and from the lies and fallacy of communism. They have allowed us to recognize the evil face of the criminal communist leaders.

The long awaited 2005 summer vacation finally arrived. Many of my good friends were coming home from various cities. I was anxious to share this book with them, knowing well that we would soon enter the work force in society. And, what our society needs is a noble, democratic, and upright force to break through the evil elements armoring the communist party.

When I tried to introduce the Nine Commentaries to a good friend studying law, I was still a bit hesitant.

"They are brainwashed every day by the CCP politics; would she accept the book?" I asked myself. To my surprise, she said, "Every day, we are buried in politics and in law studies. What is the use of having law in China? The Party overrules the state's law anyway. The poor people have nowhere to appeal their injustice."

She added that the lecturers were very careful with comments on the CCP policy made in front of the students, in case they might flow back to the principal. For example, the Nine Commentaries have created an international sensation but were not mentioned at all in the last six months. After reading one section of the Nine Commentaries my friend sighed. She felt sorry for the type of education they had been receiving day after day, one that had twisted the facts. Finally, she sat down and drafted a letter to withdraw her party membership. She even reminded me to update her if there was more good news.

Persuading friends to withdraw their party membership was not always smooth sailing. After all, having lived under the Chinese communist culture for over twenty years, even if they hadn't been totally brainwashed, incidents like the Tiananmen massacre and the Falun Gong persecution in recent years have frightened them off from attempting anything daring. A few of my friends accepted the book with reluctance. Nevertheless, after browsing through the book, they still made efforts to submit their party membership withdrawal. I am amazed at the power of the Nine Commentaries.

I have a good friend who studies interior decorating. She is one of my few friends who had joined the CCP. When I told her about the wave of withdrawals overseas, she said, "I have wanted to withdraw for a long time. It wasn't my intention to join the party in the first place. When I withdraw, I will use my own name." She was one of those who withdrew from the party even before reading the Nine Commentaries.

I have another friend who once studied music at a highly sought after university in Beijing. After graduation, she worked with a very good music company. Her parents have put a lot of hope in her future. They are hoping that she will meet and marry someone from the "upper class." This winter, when we met again, she was splitting up with her boyfriend. When I brought up the issue of party membership, she did not pay much attention to me. But when we parted, I thrust a copy of the Nine Commentaries into her hands.

Some time later, I sent her a short note saying, "Time has passed so quickly and you are about to return to Beijing. There was something I did not have time to clarify. If I don't say it, I will probably regret it. That little booklet I gave you doesn't cost much, but it is an invaluable book. It will do you and your family good. Please read it carefully." I have the feeling that she understood my intention well for she has also withdrawn her membership.

There is another good classmate of mine from the university. When I mentioned some international news that had been blocked by the Chinese media, she listened with keen interest. Feeling a bit self-conscious, she said, "We are living in the same environment, why is it that I don't hear news like that?" When she heard that there are over 8 million people who had resigned from the party and its affiliated organizations, she was shocked. Later, in her withdrawal notice, she wrote, "It is my personal wish to withdraw from the Youth League and all associated organizations of the communist party, to pursue true freedom, live a more meaningful life, and realize its true value."

One thing that makes me happy is that most of my friends voluntarily withdrew their memberships after learning the truth. Even though some of them went through a trying process, they could finally break the grip and erase the mark of the CCP beast. In our university, many students still have no knowledge of the Nine Commentaries and the wave of party membership withdrawals, but there are also many, like my friends, who know what is going on.

If you are sincere and want to do something for the good of your friends, then tell them about the Nine Commentaries. Oftentimes, some of our worries are unnecessary. It is likely that they are waiting for us to tell them. Therefore, please don't underestimate yourself. One word from you may change the entire course of their life.
