(Clearwisdom.net) Master said in the article, "Realms,"

"A wicked person is born of jealousy. Out of selfishness and anger he complains about unfairness towards himself. A benevolent person always has a heart of compassion. With no discontentment or hatred, he takes hardship as joy.  An enlightened person has no attachments at all. He quietly observes the people of the world deluded by illusions." (Essentials for Further Advancement)

Master has often told us disciples to look inward unconditionally, especially when we encounter conflicts or whenever we feel we are being treated unfairly. Though I tried to follow Master's words in the past, I did not truly understand the Fa in my heart and often felt unbalanced and a sense of unfairness in my cultivation and when doing the three things. After I could remember Zhuan Falun by heart for the first time, I felt my understanding of the Fa improved dramatically. At this time I read Master's article, "Realms" again, and I understood the reason why I could not do well in the past.

We are cultivators, Dafa practitioners. Master told us that a benevolent person always has a heart of compassion. Every practitioner should be a person with a heart of compassion all the time. We must consider the other's situation with great tolerance, treating others nicely even if they did something wrong or treated us unfairly. No matter how much pain we suffer, we must look inward unconditionally. The purpose of looking inward unconditionally is to check to see if we still have a heart of compassion, a heart of benevolence. If we don't have such a heart when facing conflicts, feeling unbalanced, feeling unfairly treated, or we are unhappy, we drop down to a lower realm at this point. Finding our own shortcomings is the way to cultivate; we can only improve when we know we are not perfect. This is why Master keeps telling us to look inward and cultivate ourselves.

As Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period, it is very important for us to look inward. The conflicts among practitioners, ineffective coordination on Fa validation projects, impatience during truth clarification, and attachment to ease in ordinary life, these are all results of not looking inward effectively. We have often said that all Dafa practitioners must form a whole body and improve together to achieve an indestructible status. This is impossible to achieve if we don't cultivate ourselves. This is the Fa that will "pacify the external by cultivating the internal" as Master has told us.

Now that I have understood the Fa better, I believe I can do better because I truly understand why we must look inward constantly. I have noticed that I have changed a lot recently; this is the natural result of studying the Fa well and cultivating more diligently.

This is my personal understanding. Please kindly point out any mistakes. Thank you.
