United Kingdom: Introducing Falun Dafa to the People of Bradford and Exposing the Persecution in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 25, 2006, several practitioners gathered in Bradford in the north of England to let people there know about Falun Gong and tell them about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners taking place in China. We were fortunate to be assigned a plot in Bradford's busiest shopping area, and despite the cold weather there were many shoppers and pedestrians who came to take a look.

Seven practitioners took turns demonstrating the exercises and talking to people who were drawn over by the music and colorful banners. Inquisitive passers-by continually approached to ask about Falun Gong and the persecution of its practitioners in China.

When talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong, a common question raised was always: "Why?" After some explanation of the background to the persecution they were eager to give their support and sign petition forms.

Early in the afternoon, a practitioner chatted with a gentleman who was a writer by profession. He wanted further information, as he intended to write about Falun Gong.

Some people showed interest in learning the Falun Gong exercises in Bradford and local practitioners aim to hold outdoor practice sessions on weekends.

To end an otherwise perfect day, it began to rain during the last hour. Due to a lack of shelter for petition forms and materials, the event came to a close an hour earlier than intended.

We hope to hold further events in the near future to enable us to reach more inhabitants of Bradford.
