The Minghui article on February 8, 2006 entitled "Exposing a Dark and Hidden Persecution" revealed that Jilin Prison extended Dafa disciples' jail times by arbitrarily deducting their accumulated points. After reading the article, I felt that my fellow practitioners under persecution had not rejected the evil's arrangement at its root and Dafa disciples' passive endurance had unconsciously boosted the evil's arrogance.

The illegal detention and persecution of Dafa disciples are unjustified. To reject and eliminate the evil at its root, it is important not to acknowledge it or capitulate to it. We should be aware that it was the evil authorities that came up with this "point" system based on the persecution. So, in acknowledging those points, haven't you already acknowledged the evil's persecution against you? This is what I think: The jailed Dafa disciples should not expect the point system to be of any use to them. If the evil gives them points, it only shows that they've done something to its liking--at least to a certain degree. Isn't that shameful for a Dafa disciple? The evil is absolutely unworthy of giving points to divine beings. If all of our fellow practitioners had never responded to the evil's demands, orders, or directions, and were able to keep up their righteous thoughts and actions without fear of death all the time, the evil would never have been so arrogant and rampant.

At times, some fellow practitioners have shown their human attachments and not had a clear understanding of the Fa principles. As a result, they have only rejected the evil's arrangements to varying degrees. If they didn't do well before and the evil gave them points that were later deducted, they, of course, could fight such persecution by demanding those points back based on the prison regulations. As Dafa disciples, however, we should know what those points mean to us. If, while fighting for them, we showed our fear of the evil's power by complying with the evil's demands, orders, or directions and gained new points--even though we did not write anything against Dafa and Master--such a fight would not be effective, as the evil would see clearly what you are attached to. I am not suggesting we all have to go on a hunger strike. Different practitioners have different understandings and approaches. At the very least, we should do the three things well. But there is one point that I think is very important, and that is, the essence of fighting persecution is not to get out of jail; instead, it is to save sentient beings and validate Dafa.
