(Clearwisdom.net) Since I first started cultivating in Falun Dafa, I have longed to be able to join other practitioners for outdoor group exercises and group Fa study. However, my work only allows me to participate in the group activities once or twice a week. I also have to make special arrangements to participate in group Fa spreading events. However, no matter how environments change, I always put Dafa in the first place.
I want to share with fellow practitioners my experiences of cultivating at work.
1. Spreading the Fa in the Office
Before July 20, 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, my work was not that busy so I had time to study the Fa in the office. I would often read the Fa out loud so my colleagues could hear and I could introduce Dafa to them. I followed the standard of Dafa when doing my work, always thinking about others and being dedicated to my job. Therefore, I received a lot of appreciation from others. Because of this, five or six people in my office obtained the Fa. There were also people from other offices coming to me to ask for copies of Zhuan Falun.
After the persecution began, I continued to study the Fa in my office. However, under the pressure of our company, several practitioners stopped cultivating. People who were deceived by the CCP propaganda on television said sarcastically to me, "If you continue to be this stubborn, you will be sent to the forced labor camp to carry big stones." I felt very sad for them.
I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong twice and was put into detention centers three times. My company and colleagues became distant towards me. I was ready to resign from my work. However, my company was concerned that I would not be monitored if I left, so they decided keep me there. Instead, my company gave me a reprimand and laid me off with a two-year probation. During those two years, I was always monitored. I told my watchers how I was beaten by the CCP police, and I clarified the truth to them, causing them to rethink their misunderstandings about Dafa. Later, I returned to my previous office. I was often humming the music to "Pu-Du" and purposely let my colleagues hear it. They knew it was Dafa music, but they did not say anything, nor did they report to it to the managers. At that time, I just thought that humming Dafa music was a way to tell others that I was still a Dafa practitioner. I did not realize that it actually eliminated the evil factors in other dimensions to a certain extent. Later, after I clarified the truth to a practitioner who had stopped her cultivation out of fear, she started practicing again. Another practitioner who stopped practicing also wanted to come back to cultivation.
2. Use Righteous Thoughts to Eliminate the Communist Evil Spirit
During the CCP's "Maintaining the Advanced Nature of the Party" movement, our company held many exams with test content supporting the CCP. Even the non-CCP members were asked to participate. I never took any exam. Each time I was able to evade it wisely under Teacher's benevolent protection. The most amazing incident occurred one time when our company was giving an exam; everyone was handed an exam paper. I refused to take it. The person distributing the exam paper just left it on her desk and did not report me. I had clarified the truth to her before and she understood me. When the director of the Discipline Inspection Office came to collect the answers, she found that one exam was missing. She asked loudly, "Who did not turn in his exam?" Everyone responded that they did, but I kept silent. The director took out a name list and began checking names. I was very firm in my mind. If they asked me to answer the questions I would tell them that I was not a CCP member and I had the right to refuse to take the CCP exam. In the meantime, I kept sending righteous thoughts with the specific thought that she would not find my name. Then the director pointed to a young man and said, "Your exam is missing." The young man was annoyed, "I turned it in already. Why can't you find it?" I was surprised. It was I who did not turn in the exam, but why did she blame another person? Then I realized that Teacher had resolved this case for me. Teacher was protecting me. I also realized that there were evil factors in the environment surrounding me.
From then on, I often sent forth righteous thoughts at work. Once at our company' all-hands meeting, I sat there thinking, "This is the best time to clear away the communist evil spirit as a whole." So I sent out a powerful thought: Eliminate the evil behind all the employees and the evil behind the speaker. Five minutes later, there came out a loud noise next to me and people all looked in my direction. A big poster of the communist evil spirit on the wall next to my seat had fallen to the ground when I sent forth righteous thoughts. Three other posters about manufacturing did not fall, only the one of the communist evil spirit. I knew this was the power of righteous thoughts.
3. Understanding Being Selected as a Model Employee from the Basis of the Fa
I did not have the usual rights other employees enjoyed even after the company's reprimand was over. I had won the "Advanced Employee" award every year in the past, but suddenly I was not "qualified" any more. As a practitioner, I did not care. This time, the president of the Labor Union, whom I had clarified truth to many times, insisted on including me in the citywide nominations for Model Service Worker. I refused, thinking that it would bring her trouble and that I did not want my achievements to glorify the evil CCP. I told the president that I did not care about ordinary people's fame and that I was doing a good job because I was supposed to do so. She said, "Every year there are people fighting for the nomination. No matter who was nominated, people were thinking it was unfair. You are next to none in our company when measured by work ethics, capability and attitude. I have heard many times in people's private conversation that you are the best in our company. Don't worry about the managers. I have decided to do the bravest thing in my life and please don't refuse it."
I was uneasy for half a month. Then I suddenly had an idea that I would write my achievements in a non-conventional way so I would not be selected. I did not use a single word from the evil CCP's vocabulary. Instead, I just used plain language, following a cultivator's standard, to write that the reason I did a good job at work was because I had a quiet, calm and benevolent heart and I tried to do everything well with benevolence. Surprisingly, this writing won me not only the title, "Model Service Worker" in the city, but also for the entire province. The officials of the selection committee said that my writing was very special. I finally understood that the sentient beings in my company were given a chance to reposition themselves through this event. Later, the president of the Labor Union got a reward. Her son, whose academic achievement was just so-so, earned a good score during a college entrance exam and was accepted by a university.
4. Continuing Cultivation in New Environments
My husband and I worked and lived in different cities. My husband was also implicated because I am a Falun Gong practitioner. He lost two promotions as a result, so he was not supportive of my cultivation. He tried hard and was finally able to get me a job in the city where he stayed. At that time, I was worried that he might be against my practice. My fear of the new environments exposed a gap in me and thus the evil factors created many troubles at my new job: managers were not happy with me, a colleague complained that I took her position away and I made mistakes at work.
Through studying the Fa, I found my deeply hidden fear. After sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate this fear, my environment gradually changed. Even though I was still very busy, I kept doing the exercises in the morning and reciting the Fa while commuting back and forth to work twice a day. To clarify the truth to people, I wrote short truth-clarification phrases on banknotes, mailed letters and distributed Dafa materials when I went shopping. As I kept improving myself and improving my environment, my husband was not so resistant to my practicing anymore. I believe that my work environment will become better and better, as well.
