(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Berlin have demonstrated outside the Thai Embassy since December 28, 2005. They are calling for the immediate release of the illegally-detained practitioners in Thailand, and hoping through their actions, to encourage the authorities in Thailand to not give in to pressure from the Chinese Communist regime (CCP).

Thai nationals and Germans freely accepted leaflets. Embassy visitors showed deep interest in the issue. The Ambassador could see the practitioners' banner when she passed by in her car. Staff from the Embassy visited the practitioners over and over again, as they wanted to see the solemn vigil.

The coming days will continue to find practitioners in front of the Thai Embassy in Berlin, in an effort to expose the human rights situation in Thailand.

Background

While meditating and peacefully protesting across from the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 10, 2005, International Human Rights Day, practitioners were roughly treated by the Thai police. It was noted that dozens of Thai police went into and left the Chinese Embassy, and then crossed the street and searched the practitioners roughly, who were peacefully demonstrating against the ongoing persecution against Falun Gong in China. The police arrested some of them and confiscated their banners. One of the officers told the practitioners that he really did not want to break up the demonstration, but was following orders from the Chinese Embassy.
