(Clearwisdom.net) There are two elderly female practitioners in our Fa-study group. One is 67-years-old and the other is 71-years-old. They are diligent on the path of Fa-rectification with righteous thoughts and actions, doing the three things quietly and steadily. They are very strong and walk very fast, and even younger people cannot keep up with them.
The practitioner who is 67 years old obtained the Fa in 1994. She broke through many tribulations. On her path of Fa-rectification, she cultivated herself while saving sentient beings. In November 2003, she set up a Fa-study group at her home. She always cared about the practitioners who had not yet gone out to clarify the truth to others. She invited them to her home, and encouraged them to go out to validate the Fa, join the group study and share with other practitioners. She also organized experience sharing for those who had not gone out. After the sharing, those practitioners improved in their understanding of Fa.
She kept what Teacher said in "Environment" in mind,
"This environment is the best way to change the surface of a person. The lofty conduct that Dafa disciples have established in this environment--including every word and every deed--can make people recognize their own weaknesses and identify their shortcomings; it can move their hearts, refine their conduct, and enable them to make progress more rapidly." She cherished very much the predestined relationship with practitioners. During her Fa-rectification activities, she always maintained kindness and tolerance when faced with practitioners' misunderstanding. She was very strict with herself and always looked within. When she saw practitioners' shortcomings, she would point them out with kindness and those practitioners were always willing to accept her comments. She was nice to practitioners and never hurt them, and helped form a harmonious, righteous field among practitioners.
The winter was very cold in Northern China. In order to daub the poster glue quickly and efficiently, she prepared the warm glue in advance. She always pasted every flyer in places where people could readily see them. Sometimes she would go out to distribute materials at 3:00 a.m. She was considerate when distributing the materials and she put them in convenient locations for people to see them. She put the material at the stairs in front of the Public Security Bureau to save all sentient beings that could be saved. In April 2004, a practitioner was arrested. She went to the 610 Office in her city and clarified the truth to the director of the office. At that time, the director said, "You practice Falun Gong, too." But she had no fear at all.
Just as Teacher commented in "Study the Fa Well, and Getting Rid of Attachments is Not Hard" (from a recent Clearwisdom article, "The Only Thing Falun Dafa Disciples Have a Role in Is Saving People ** With Teacher's Commentary"):
"Yet for cultivators, fear or lack thereof proves [one's] humanity or divinity, and it is what differentiates cultivators from ordinary people. It is something that a cultivator must face, and the biggest human attachment that a cultivator must remove."
She tried her best to understand the Fa from Fa, and be diligent on the path of validating the Fa with righteous thoughts and actions according to the standard for Dafa practitioners of the Fa-rectification period.
The practitioner who is 71 years old has studied and recited Fa every day since she obtained the Fa in 1996. She has read Zhuan Falun hundreds of times. And she recites verbatim Zhuan Falun, Essentials for Further Advancement, Hong Ying, and Hong Ying II. Just because she has such a solid foundation in Fa study, she can treat everything as Dafa requires. She broke through very big tribulations including the grief of losing her son. She firmly believes in Teacher and Dafa. She has cultivated diligently on the path to godhood and has done the three things better and better.
Although she is an older practitioner, she never waits for or relies on others when clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. When the Jiang group began to brutally persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, there were no truth clarifying materials. In 2000, she began to bring in materials and stickers from other areas. In those severe days, the government officials would search each passenger and their luggage at the station and on the train and the bus. Therefore, with wisdom, she used clothes to wrap the materials and make it into a belt. When the materials were not enough, she would produce more by herself. She produced them in the evening and distributed them in the daytime. She validated the Fa in all kinds of ways. She clarified the truth and saved sentient beings every day with her heart.
Eventually, there were materials produced in her local area, and she was so happy that she could go out to distribute the materials, post the flyers and hang up the banners whether it was a cold winter or a hot summer day. Once she threw a banner on the roof of a house and she tried to drag it down. The next day she found that the banner was hanging from the eaves as if by design. She not only clarified the truth in her city, but also went to the neighboring villages to clarify the truth. She sent the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to the municipal committee, the Education Commission, the daycare center, the hospital, and even the home of the judge and the director of 610 Office. This practitioner in her 70's left her footprint of Fa-rectification everywhere she went.
She visited those practitioners who had not gone out and were not diligent, sharing experiences with them. Those practitioners gradually realized the responsibility and mission of Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period. Eight practitioners went out to validate the Fa with her helpful advice. It had a very positive impact on our improvement as a whole.
There were statements slandering Teacher at the city square in 2001. At around 8 o'clock in the morning, she scratched the statements off character by character with another practitioner. A young man came up to ask them why they scratching them. They replied, "We are doing sanitary work. The statements are too dirty." The young man walked away with a smile, "You have your own [steadfast] belief. Go ahead and do it." Under the severe environment, she had no fear. She always said, "Cultivate diligently on the path to godhood and face everything with righteous thoughts."
These two older practitioners said that they just did what a practitioner should do as Teacher required and it did not warrant fanfare. They said that they were far from what Teacher required of Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period, but their righteous thoughts and actions encouraged the practitioners in our Fa-study group to be diligent on the path of validating the Fa.
