Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Gao Shicong was formerly the deputy chief of Tuoshan Village Police Station in Wangfangdian City, Liaoning Province. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Gao actively carried out the policy of the Jiang Zemin regime. On the day the persecution began, Gao led his subordinates to arrest all the practitioners who showed up for group practice that day. They threatened the practitioners with their guns and took all of them to the police station. Later Gao often led his people to harass practitioners at home, searching for Dafa books and intimidating them. Some practitioners advised him to be good to practitioners and to stop persecuting Falun Gong, lest he receive karmic retribution. Gao did not listen at all. Instead he often cursed Dafa. In May 2001, while at work, he suddenly died. He was only 56 years old.

Liu Zhongbo was formerly the chief of Tuoshan Village Police Station in Wangfangdian City, Liaoning Province. After the persecution began, he was an active participant. In addition to arresting and beating practitioners, he also extorted money from practitioners' families.

In November 2004, while riding a car, he stuck his head out of the car window and looked back. A big truck passed the car he was riding in and hit his head. He died on the spot.

Sun Luting was the security officer of Jintun Village in Wangfangdian City. After the persecution began in July 1999, he went to practitioners' homes to search for Dafa books and forced practitioners to write "guarantee statements." Moreover, he spied on practitioners and reported their whereabouts to the authorities. When practitioners refused to write letters promising to give up cultivation, he drafted the letters himself and then claimed that practitioners had written them.

In Autumn 2003, just after he got up, he died suddenly of unexplained causes.
