(Clearwisdom.net) My mother, Su Cailian, who is in her seventies, lives in Luoxiu Township, Guiping City, Guangxi Province. Back in my childhood in the 1980s, I witnessed that my Mom was physically weak and full of illnesses. In spite of the reform and open-door policies in China, people in my hometown, especially my own family, still lived in poverty. To feed seven children, my mother had to work even harder than others. The result was that her health condition deteriorated.

When I reached the age of ten, Mom suffered from a duodenal ulcer. Unable to afford the cost of sending her to a hospital, Dad carried Mom to see a Chinese folk doctor. While Mom's situation was under control after the visit, her illness was not cured. Since then, Mom became even weaker, often feeling dizzy, her vision was blurred, and she was aching all over. Lacking proper nutrition to strengthen her body, she gradually developed heart disease, nervosas, apoplexy, dropsy (edema), and other diseases. She was not able to raise her arms or touch any cold water. In addition, she could easily catch cold and she suffered from unbearable pain.

In 1995, Mom's health deteriorated rapidly. She suffered from heart attacks. Dropsy showed up all over her body. With her stomach being painful, her limbs numb, and being unable to move, she had to lie in bed. Even in very warm weather, she had to use a quilt, yet she still felt cold. Day by day, a small amount of rice soup kept her alive.

At Luoxiu Hospital, a doctor told Mom that her heart disease was incurable. With her other various illnesses, she was doomed, the doctor said. As the last hope, we sent Mom to a well-known hospital in Guiping City. A renowned doctor diagnosed her. "She won't survive a month," he concluded. In the end, he gave her a prescription for some stimulants.

Bringing her back home, we were all sobbing. That was right before the Chinese New Year. Desperately, we had to tell the truth about Mom's condition to our younger brother, Liang Zhihua, who was studying at a college in Liuzhou, Guangxi Province. In a few days, Zhihua came home. As soon as he stepped in the door, he said, "Only Falun Dafa can save Mom!" As a practitioner of Falun Dafa, Zhihua had experienced the power and miracles of Dafa. According to Zhihua, he personally witnessed a few terminally ill patients in Liuzhou who survived as a result of practicing Dafa. Hearing his story, we all encouraged Mom to give it a try. Indeed, practicing Dafa was the last hope for Mom.

Zhihua brought home the book, Zhuan Falun and the exercise audiotape. Later he brought home a set of audiotapes of Teacher's Lectures in Jinan. Because Mom could not read, we had to take turns reading Zhuan Falun to her. Every day we finished reading one lecture, followed by playing the exercise music and the audiotape of Teacher's lectures.

At about 8:00 p.m. the next day, Mom saw a large golden Falun spinning in her bedroom and lighting up the room. On the third day, her symptoms of dropsy disappeared slowly. In a week, Mom insisted on getting up to start practicing the sitting meditation. With our help, soon she managed to get off the bed to practice the hand movements. With persistence, Mom did the exercises twice a day, spent the rest of her time reading and listening to the Fa, and looked within according to the requirements of the Fa. Day by day, Mom's health was improving. In two months, all of her symptoms of illness disappeared miraculously, without a single pill. In fact, she threw away all of the doctor's prescription drugs.

In May of 1996, after ten years of being unable to do any farm work, Mom finally started up farm work again, without fatigue. Instead, she was full of energy. Witnessing the dramatic changes in my Mom's health after her practice of Falun Dafa, the villagers were all astonished by the power of Dafa and approached Mom to learn more about Falun Gong. Many of them joined Mom to practice Falun Gong.

After Jiang Zemin's regime launched the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, Mom often clarifies the truth of Falun Gong and the persecution to those who don't understand Falun Gong. When the local authorities and police came to pressure Mom and our family several times to give up our belief, Mom again clarified the truth to them. Facing illegal arrest, Mom was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution. After living with my younger brother in Shenzhen for a little over a month, Mom, together with my brother, was arrested by officer Cai Hangui from the 610 Office, another officer surnamed Tan from the Guiping Police Department, and policemen from the Shenzhen police station. They ordered their hatchet men to beat up Mom and my brother.

I am appealing to all kind-hearted people to take action to condemn the crimes of the Chinese authorities. Together, let us stop the persecution against innocent Falun Dafa practitioners.
