VOA: Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal 24 Hours a Day outside Hu's Hotel in New York

(Clearwisdom.net) According to Voice of America's report on September 13, 2005, when the head of the Chinese Communist Party, Hu Jintao, flew from Mexico to New York to attend the United Nations' World Summit, Falun Gong supporters, people from Taiwanese organizations and pro-democratic organizations held a rally, parade and demonstration to protest Hu Jintao.

(Clearwisdom.net) According to Radio Free Asia's report on September 13, 2005, Chinese-American Falun Gong practitioner Charles Li was arrested and sentenced to prison when he returned to China. It's been two and a half years now. An American Falun Gong (Friends of Charles Li) spokesperson called on Hu Jintao, who came to New York to attend the UN World Summit, to immediately release Charles Li and stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Canada last week gave local Falun Gong practitioners a chance to draw even more attention to the persecution faced by Falun Gong members worldwide. President Hu sidestepped journalists' questions about the murder, disappearance, torture and illegal detainment of thousands of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) followers in China since 1999.
