(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Bian Weixing is a 56-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Zhiguang Town, Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province. She had several diseases before she started practicing Falun Gong, such as arteriosclerosis of the brain, brain ischemia, brain nerve pain, severe gastric diseases, and severe swelling of the foot due to rheumatism. She endured tremendous suffering due to these illnesses.

When she happened to hear Teacher's Fa lecture audiotape, the profound principles and great teachings emphasizing virtue and doing good deeds deeply attracted her. She had been strongly attached to personal gain and had deep conflicts and resentment with her father-in-law and her husband. People around her knew her as an ill-tempered person. After listening to the audiotapes of Teacher Li's lectures, she turned into a different person. The conflicts were solved. When doing business with others, she put down pursuing personal gain and did business fairly, and began treating others with kindness. She changed from being a person well known for her bad temper into a person with high moral standards, who turned the other cheek when her interests were encroached upon. People were very impressed by her change. In addition, the diseases that bothered her for years disappeared.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin and his regime used the state controlled media to slander Falun Gong and its founder. The head of Zhiguang Police Station Hou Weiying led the police to persecute Ms. Bian Weixiang. One day at midnight, Hou Weiying and policeman Xiao Guo arrested a practitioner with the surname Liu and broke into Ms. Bian's home. Practitioner Liu's body was covered with wounds from the police's beating. The police threw some merchandise (cookies and cloth etc.) that Ms. Bian had prepared for her store on the floor and tried to force her to hand in her Falun Dafa books. Ms. Bian told them she did not have any books to hand in to them. Hou flew into a rage and swore at her. To force Ms. Bian to yield, the police beat practitioner Liu in front of her. Practitioner Liu was unable to take the beating and said to Ms. Bian helplessly, "[You have] twelve books, give them the books." Ms. Bian hesitated and finally had to hand in the books to the police. She deeply regretted handing in the books. Since then, her house did not have a single day of peace. The police station constantly sent people to her home to harass her. They tried to force her to write a guarantee statement saying that she would give up the practice of Falun Gong and took her fingerprint. They took her to the police station many times. Her whole family was in constant fear.

On April 2, 2002, the head of Zhiguang Town Police Station Su Dali summoned Ms. Bian to the police station using the excuse of wanting to have a talk with her. In the police station, he threatened her and tried to force her to give up the practice of Falun Gong. Because she refused his request, he sent her to the Second Detention Center of Wuchang City on the same day. She was detained for over two months. Once, Ms. Bian was found doing the Falun Gong exercises during the detention. The perpetrators put 50 pound shackles on her for ten days, and then locked her to the bed frame for five days and nights. The torture caused Ms. Bian's feet to become swollen. Ms. Bian was unable to take care of herself, and the police often cursed at her.

On July 4, 2002, Ms. Bian Weixiang was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin. In the labor camp, the police intensified the persecution against her. Every day, the police cursed at Ms. Bian Weixiang and forced her to listen and watch their slanderous materials attacking Falun Gong and its founder. Because she refused to write the three statements, she was forced to squat down or sit on a tiny stool for 16 to 18 hours everyday. One day during the freezing weather in November, the police did not allow her to wear a coat and forced her to go barefoot. They made her sit on a metal chair in the hallway for one day and night while the windows were all open. The cold wind blew the snow on her body and face. Her teeth were chattering in the extreme cold. The perpetrators did not allow her to use the toilet. The mental and physical persecution went on for a long time.

Because Ms. Bian was unable to take the torture any more, she was forced to write the "three statements" against her will. Since June 2003, she has been forced to do hard labor every day for over 16 to 20 hours. In addition, she was forced to write "report of thoughts and understanding." This kind of persecution lasted for three years. The police used the profit gained from the products and work that practitioners did and spent it on their own personal pleasure.

Wanjia Forced Labor Camp is notorious for its darkness and evil. Practitioners have suffered from various tortures, which are beyond imagination. Almost every determined Falun Gong practitioner suffered the same level of torture as Ms. Bian Weixiang. Some practitioners were forced to keep the squatting position for 27 consecutive days, hung up, tied on the "death bed," and had toothpicks hammered under their fingernails. Police kicked and beat them. They used electric batons to shock practitioners' faces, necks and all over their bodies. They grabbed practitioners by the hair, smashed their heads against the wall, and slapped them. Sometimes the police beat the practitioners until they were unconscious, and then poured cold water on them. They tortured the practitioners while their mouths were sealed with tape. Sometimes the police inserted electric batons into practitioners' mouths, which made the practitioners unable to talk or cry out. If any practitioner died from torture, the police claimed the practitioner died from illness or committed suicide. There were two practitioners being hung upside down. The torture eventually broke their tendons at the ankles. They were disabled and unable to take care of themselves. Because the practitioners refused to give up their belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," they were tortured to disability, severely wounded, or even killed by the perpetrators.

We call for urgent help and attention from practitioners, both in China and overseas, and kindhearted people to pay attention to the practitioners being detained and tortured every minute in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.
