My father is 72 years old. People of his age have lived through the time period when the Communist evil specter was most rampant. When he was young, my father worked as a village work team leader for 18 years. He would lead his team members to work in the fields early in the morning when it was still dark, and in the evening they still had to attend Communist Party meetings and be indoctrinated with its ideology. After the meetings it would be late into the night by the time they got home. When I was still a child, I remember that my father followed the Party's requirements strictly and didn't allow us to eat until we all stood in front of the picture of the Party leader and sang songs of praise to the evil Party and its leader. He also required us to give personal reports. My parents worked day and night in the village work team, and also asked me and my brother to work at home every evening making window shades for the military forces. If ever my brother and I could not finish our work, the credits that my parents earned by working in the fields would be reduced. I worked like that ever since I can remember, and my younger brother was only 4 years old. My father would beat my brother because he was too young and liked playing instead of working. Despite all the work, our credit balance was always zero at the end of every year, meaning we got nothing extra from the government and we did not owe them anything either. Therefore, even if we worked diligently for the Party, we would not have enough food.
In my memory of childhood and my teenage years, I can only remember hunger, coldness, poverty and hard labor. Even though our life was hard, all we saw and heard were praise for the evil Party and its leader. If anyone dared to have a different voice, they would be immediately sent to a labor camp or jail. My father witnessed that those people who had their own thoughts were labeled as "right wing" traitors and persecuted. Many of them died of hunger or exhaustion and were carelessly buried. Some people were buried purposely with their heads or feet left sticking out of the ground. My father witnessed how brutally the Party tortured and killed people, so he was very scared of the Party. He felt that it was a big favor that the Party would allow him to survive. Thus, though my father was not a Communist Party member, he followed whatever the Party said.
In 2000, my 60-year-old mother was detained for over 20 days for practicing Falun Gong by the Political and Law Commissar and the police station. My father walked for 8 kilometers to deliver food to my mother, and he paid some money to get my mother released. Though my father saw how cruelly my mother was tortured, he felt that the reason for my mother's suffering was because she did not obey what the government and the Party said, so he got angry with my mother every day. He said, "What benefit can you get by fighting with the Communist Party? You will only suffer losses." The resentment and anger made his chest stuffy and his abdomen swell. He didn't have bowel movements for 8-9 days and medicine didn't help.
My family told me over the phone that my father was seriously ill, so I offered to take care of him at my house. In talking to him I found that my father was not against Falun Gong, he was just worried about being persecuted by the Party and he also felt resentment over the money that was extorted from him by the police. I clarified the truth to my father and he gradually calmed down and didn't have so much misunderstanding against Falun Gong practitioners. Shortly after, he had diarrhea for a whole day and one day later, his chest was not stuffy any more and his abdomen was no longer swollen. His health recovered and he went back to our hometown.
After my father went back home, he could not understand us again. He often told my mother not to practice Falun Gong if the Communist Party didn't allow it and told her there was nothing to gain by fighting with the Communist Party. Shortly after, his head became dizzy and it became increasingly serious. He often could not get up from his bed and sometimes had nightmares. His diseases became more and more serious and he spent quite a lot of money to see a doctor, have injections and buy medicine, but nothing worked. This March, Clearwisdom published a new article about sending forth righteous thoughts which talked about us destroying all elements of the evil Communist specter and all of its factors in other dimensions. When I sent forth righteous thoughts, I added one thought to destroy all evil Communist specters behind my family and friends. After some time, when I went back home to visit my father, I found that he no longer suffered from the disease of dizziness that he had had for a long time and he could easily get up from the bed and move around.
Master Li's compassion has once again saved my father and helped him to remove the Communist evil specter and elements that had brainwashed and poisoned him for several decades. Now, he realizes from the bottom of his heart that Falun Dafa is good, and sometimes he also learns the exercises from my mother. He said, "I want to help your mother to revise the words in Dafa books, but I am illiterate and cannot read or enlighten to the book. Otherwise, I would also follow you to practice Falun Gong. Now, I remind your mother to practice at the right time (sending forth righteous thoughts). I even remind her at midnight. If your mother is busy with cooking, I would do that work for her so that her practice won't be delayed." Seeing that my father became increasingly healthy, both physically and mentally, our whole family knows that this is due to the great compassion of Master Li.
