On Saturday June 18, the largest TV station in the Czech Republic, Cesha Televize 1, interviewed Xiong Wei at a memorial where victims of the Communist Party used to be tortured. Xiong Wei is a practitioner from Germany who is visiting the Czech Republic. She spent two years in a Chinese forced labor camp, imprisoned for handing out leaflets exposing the human rights abuses against Falun Gong, before German Falun Gong practitioners and human rights organizations launched a campaign to rescue her to Germany.

Anti-torture exhibition

On huge steps, iron statues of emaciated figures with stiff bodies or limbs missing wore fearful and helpless expressions. A metal memorial slab was engraved with the details of people who were tortured to death, including children, locked up in concentration camps or labor camps by the Communist Party.

It was in this place that Xiong Wei recounted various torture methods used in China's detention centers and labor camps. Over 2,600 innocent people have had their lives taken in the Chinese Communist Party's campaign of genocide against Falun Gong.

Truth Clarification activities in old town square of Prague

On June 19, the practitioners held a large-scale activity in front of the Hus monument in the crowded old town square of Prague. They demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, exhibited part of the "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance International Art Exhibition" (see www.falunart.org) and held an anti-torture exhibition where the methods of torture used against Falun Gong practitioners were simulated to help the Czech people see the human rights abuses happening in China. All major media TV stations, radio stations and newspapers sent reporters to cover the event.
