(Clearwisdom.net) On June 14, 2005, practitioners from Europe and Taiwan attended a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy in Helsinki. A statement was read calling for an immediate end to the systematic human rights abuses that have been waged against Falun Gong practitioners for the last six years by the Chinese Communist Party.

Between 200,000 and one million practitioners have been illegally sent to forced labor camps without trials. The statement called for the release of all practitioners illegally detained in China and the bringing to justice all officials guilty of torture and of participating in the campaign of genocide against Falun Gong. "They have used all kind of tactics, ranging from torture to denial of housing, employment, education, etc. simply because Falun Gong practitioners like to improve themselves physically, morally and spiritually," said the statement.
