Facts of the Persecution

1. The Nature of "Helping the Poor" in Aohan Flag, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous District

On April 2, 2005, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Political and Judiciary Committee in the Inner-Mongolia Autonomous District and Aohan Flag conducted a "Helping the Poor" campaign for some former Falun Dafa practitioners. They sent necessities worth about one hundred yuan to each practitioner, on the condition that they must declare that they have been thoroughly "transformed." Actually there were more than 40 practitioners in Aohan Flag who have been sent to forced labor camps at least once, and others were sent twice. The practitioners have also been sent to brainwashing torture sessions. Ms. Xin Yuqin has been in the forced labor camps twice, each time for two years. Her first term was in the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp, and the second was in the Hohhot City Women's Forced Labor Camp. Inside the Aohan Detention Center Ms. Yu Cuihua was cruelly beaten by female guard Ji Yahuan with a "wolf-tooth" baton, which left her buttocks covered with purple-black bruises. She was later sent to a forced labor camp for three years. Mr. Hu Mingjun was detained in 2002, and was again arrested in July 2003, and detained for two months. Each Falun Dafa practitioner has been extorted of money several times, arrested, and sent to forced labor camps or prisons one or more times. These are the real reasons they are poor.

3. Persecution Facts in Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province

In February 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. He Weiyu and Xu Ensheng were reported to police while they passed out truth clarifying materials in Guding Town. They were followed, and then arrested by policeman Xian Jian from the Guding Town Substation. The police ransacked their homes, and detained them in the Chengnan and Chengbei Substations. They were tortured using long-term sleep deprivation. Mr. Xu Ensheng could not stand the continuous tortures any longer, and divulged to police the source of the truth clarifying materials. This resulted in practitioner Mr. Wu Xianjin's arrest, his home being ransacked, and his being tortured with sleep deprivation. Mr. Wu went on a hunger strike to protest. These three practitioners were all detained in the Second Detention Center. Mr. Wu Xianjin and Mr. Xu Ensheng were sentenced to three years of forced labor, and Mr. He Weiyu has been sentenced to two years of forced labor. The three were sent to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in March 2004. Mr. Xu was rejected by the camp due to poor health. The other two are still detained. Mr. Xu has been tortured repeatedly, and his physical condition is deteriorating. He has lost the strength to work, and has been near death many times. The 610 Office and the Neighborhood Administration continue harassing him at his home.

4. Fatal Accident Not Settled After One Year Because the Victim is a Practitioner and the Driver Is Related to the Police Director

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Fengyu was in his 50s. He had been detained many times due to his steadfast cultivation in Falun Dafa. At the beginning of 2001, he was again detained, and sentenced to three years of forced labor. He was brutally beaten in the forced labor camp, and his front tooth was broken off. Only four months after his release, he was killed by a drunk driver. The police have not been dealing with this accident, because Mr. Yang was a Falun Dafa practitioner, and the driver, An Fuai (male), is the brother-in-law of Police Director Zhao Guomin (male). Therefore the case was never closed.
