Facts of the Persecution

1. Practitioner Ms. Yu Mei from Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, Sent to Sanshui Labor Camp

The home of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yu Mei from the Chikan District in Zhanjiang City was ransacked multiple times. The police also threatened her family. In order to avoid the brutal persecution and illegal arrest, she was forced to leave her disabled husband and young daughter and to become destitute and homeless. Ms. Yu had been missing since May 2004. Apparently, officers from Xiashan Station had arrested her and sent her to Sanshui Labor Camp without any legal procedures. In order to resist this persecution, Ms. Yu went on a hunger strike for more than ten days until her life was endangered. Almost a year later, in mid April 2005, the Zhanjiang City 610 Office head Chen Jun (male) notified Ms. Yu's family, ordering them to visit her in Zhanjiang City's "Legal Education School," where she is now being detained. When she appeared in front of her family as thin as a skeleton, no one could hold back their tears.

2. Retired Changzhi City Courthouse Official in Shanxi Province Exposed Persecution of His Family

My name is Fu Guosheng, and I am a retiree from Changzhi City Middle Court in Shanxi Province. My wife Jia Yuzhen, daughter Jiang Yan, and younger son Zhong Yi, who is still in jail, were each sentenced to three years in prison. During this difficult period, my freedom was restricted for more than two years. Our home was under surveillance, and our phone was often bugged. My wife and daughter have been followed after their release from prison. We do not have any freedom or rights. The worst incident happened on the afternoon of April 20, 2005, when nearly 10 plain-clothes officers from the Changzhi City Police Department stormed into my home. They body searched me, and then they searched the house without showing any ID, which is in violation of Article 300 of the Criminal Law. Around 8 p.m. that night, officers Li Qingsong (male) and Han Junsheng (male) stormed into my home again. They pushed my wife down and my daughter onto the sofa. They ransacked our home for two hours. Li Qingsong broke our bedroom door by kicking it down. The other four said they were from the Procuratorate.

3. Practitioner Ms. Mao Xiuying from Yuchuan Town, Wuxue City, Hubei Province, Brutally Beaten

On the afternoon of December 4, 2004, officers from Yuchuan Town, Wuxue City, violently arrested practitioner Ms. Mao Xiuying, who was conducting business on the street. The officers brutally kicked her with their boots, which left her face, legs and body covered with dark bruises. They abducted her and two other practitioners to the Yuchuan Police Substation. The officers hit another elderly 60-year-old practitioner on the head. When this practitioner instantly passed out, they poured cold water on his/her (gender unknown) face and burnt the practitioner's eyes to see if the person was faking it. They then carried the practitioner outside in the freezing cold.

Ms. Mao Xiuying had gone to Beijing to appeal in August 2000. She was escorted back by Yuchuan Police and detained for nearly three months. She was abducted in December 2000 for passing out truth clarifying materials and was detained for another three months and further sentenced to one year of forced labor. While in the labor camp, she was tortured, force-fed and brutally beaten. In June 2001, when she was working in her grandmother's field, she was deceived into going to the Longganhu Police Substation. She was abducted and detained in the Shilipu Detention Center located in Huangmei County, where she went on a hunger strike for four days. She was transferred to the Shizishan Drug Rehabilitation Center Labor Camp in Wuhan City and then sent to the Second Ward located in Qili Lake, Shayang City, Hubei Province. She was tortured with electric batons, cruelly force-fed and subjected to many mental and physical tortures. In January 2002, Ms. Mao Xiuying was abducted to a brainwashing center located in the Wuxue Detention Center for passing out truth clarifying flyers. She was detained there until November 30, 2002.
