(Clearwisdom.net) In May 2002, along with other female Falun Gong practitioners from Liaoning Province, Ms. Luo Li went to the Tongerpu area in Dengta County, Liaoyang City, to promote Dafa and clarify the truth about Falun Gong. Some people who had been poisoned by the propaganda defaming Dafa reported them, and they were arrested and sent to the Hongwei District Police Station in Liaoyang City. The policemen there unlawfully interrogated them, and two practitioners were beaten unconscious. Three of them were beaten until their bodies were black and blue all over. Later on, they were illegally detained in the Liaoyang City Detention Center.
During the time they were held there, the police used extremely cruel and contemptible means to persecute the women practitioners. They forced and assisted prisoners there to strip the practitioners and to beat their bare bodies. They even forced the nude women to go through the male wards to humiliate them.
All the women practitioners endured enormous humiliation and physical pain. They appealed the abuses to the appropriate department, asking them to punish the officers and prisoners responsible, but the matter was not addressed. Instead, the practitioners were unlawfully sentenced to labor camps and prisons. In September 2002, they changed the original sentence of Ms. Luo Li and sent her to the Dabei Women's Prison in Shenyang Province to further persecute her.
