Facts of the Persecution

1. Ms. Chang Yuying from Jiyuan City, Henan Province, is Abducted Again. Her Husband Died as a Result of the Persecution Two Years Ago

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chang Yuying has been persecuted many times for her belief. As the result of the persecution, her husband Duan Changfu, also a practitioner, suddenly died from a heart attack in November of 2003. He was only 50 years old. At that time, their two children still lived at school, and Ms. Chang was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution, so no one knows the exact date of his death. Ms. Chang Yuying is now in prison and on the sixth day of a hunger strike. She is extremely weak.

2. Policeman Kong Lingwen, Who Beat Zhang Bin to Death at the Huludao Forced Labor Camp, Is At It Again

Victim: Pei Guangxin, a practitioner from the Nanpiao District in Huludao City, Liaoning Province

Persecutors: Cui Xiaodong, Director of No. 5 Section of Huludao Forced Labor Camp; Kong Lingwen, Assistant Director of No. 5 Section of Huludao Forced Labor Camp; Wu Yang, Deputy Head of Disciplinary Department; Gong, Staff of Disciplinary Department; Xie Yide, prison inmate.

On March 16, 2005, when Director Cui Xiaodong and inmate Xie Yide saw practitioner Mr. Pei Guangxin in the double-crossed-leg posture, inmate Xie Yide slapped Mr. Pei twice in the face. Then Cui Xiaodong began to beat him with an electric baton. They beat, kicked, slapped, and stomped on him while he was lying on the ground. Mr. Pei's mouth began to bleed from the beating. Police officer Kong Lingwen, Deputy Wu Yang, and staff member Gong then used two electric batons to shock Mr. Pei. They loosened his teeth, and he couldn't eat anything for days. Afterwards, to protest the persecution, Mr. Pei Gongxing went on a hunger strike. Three days into his hunger strike, the guards shocked him with six or seven electric batons.

3. Persecution of Practitioners in Yongxing County, Hunan Province

Ms. Li Jianfeng, 55 years old, is from Haoshan Village, Huangni Town, Yongxing County. In December 2001, while Ms. Li was shopping at a fair and talking with fellow practitioners, the authorities abducted her and the four other practitioners. In the afternoon, Peng Baocheng, Head of the Political and Judiciary Committee, led Yu Pingjing, Li Zhiwen and Li Wanli to illegally break into Ms. Li's home and ransack it. Then they abducted her again for interrogation. They detained her husband under the stairs and left him out in the cold all night long. The next day, they detained Ms. Li and her husband at the police station for an entire day.

In March 2003, Ms. Li's three daughters were arrested and sentenced to three to seven years at Changsha Women's Prison. Two of them were persecuted in the Anren County Detention Center for almost a year. During the past five years, Ms. Li and her family have been continuously persecuted and her family broken up.

Mr. Xu Shiguo is a Changbei villager from Mencun Village, Huangni Town, Yongxing County. On January 2, 2001, the local government and police arrested him while he was reading Falun Dafa books at a fellow practitioner's home. He was brutally beaten before he was detained at the Yongxin Detention Center for 15 days.

Ms. Cao Xinu, 50 years old, is from Huangni Town, Yongxing County. Someone reported her to the police when she and another practitioner were clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution at a nearby village. When she was detained at the local police station, the police forced her to kneel down as they whipped her with a belt. They also kicked her back, hips, and soles of her feet with heavy leather shoes. As a result of the beatings, her hands became severely swollen and her face was black and blue. Cao Henggang, Head of the Political and Judiciary Committee; Xu Pingjiang; and Xu Xianyong took turns beating her. In the evening, she was handcuffed to the window and not allowed to sleep. She was also not allowed to eat or drink anything for two days. Later, she was detained at the county detention center for more than 20 days.

Mr. Chen Liguang, 66 years old, is from Youma Town, Yongxing County. At 10 a.m. on July 20 2002, Zhang Zhihui, the Director of the Matian Police Station; Zhang Tao; and others arrested him while he was clarifying the truth to the manager of the Matian Hotel. They beat and kicked him on the way to the police station. In the evening, he was transferred to the Guanxingcheng Police Station. At noon on July 21, he was transferred to the Yongxing Detention Center and detained there for seven months

Mr. Xu Bing is a Laoting villager from Mencun Village, Huangni Town, Yongxing County. In the evening on December 15, 2000, Guo Fu from the county police station led ten people to Mr. Xu's home to arrest him. Because Mr. Xu was not there, they ransacked his home instead. Later the same night, they arrested Mr. Xu in Yongxing County. They sent him to the township and brutally beat him. Zhou Yide, Deputy Head of the township, stomped on Mr. Xu's chest. As a result, Mr. Xu vomited blood for 10 days in the detention center. He was illegally detained there for one month and six days.

Mr. Xu Jiancheng is a Changbei villager from Mencun Village, Huangni Town, Yongxing County. On January 2, 2001, the town government and police arrested him at another practitioner's home while he was studying the Fa. He was brutally beaten with a belt with his arms stretched out. They also burned him with a lit cigarette, beat and kicked him, stepped on his hands with their leather shoes, and drilled nails into him. He was later sent to the Yongxin Detention Center and detained for 20 days.

On December 5, 2001, as Mr. Xu went to buy a pair of rain boots on Huangni Street, three people dragged him to Huangni Town. They sent him to the Yongxin Chengguan Police Station, where he was detained for 13 days. Later he was transferred to the Yongxing Detention Center for 15 days.

4. Practitioner Li Haishan Was Tortured to Death by Jiang's Regime

Mr. Li Haishan, 61 years old, was from Weifangdu City, Shandong Province. In March 2004, Zhu Pengde led several people to Mr. Li's home, abducted him, and took him to a detention center. At the detention center, his hands and legs were cuffed, he was forced to sit on the iron chair, and he was tortured in other ways during interrogation. Only after the authorities had extorted money from him was he released. After returning home, he became depressed. He lost his appetite, had trouble falling asleep, and become extremely thin. He went to the hospital for a check up and was told he had liver cancer. He passed away in January 2005. He used to be very healthy before the persecution.

5. The Persecution of Practitioner Zhang Shusen from Haixing County, Hebei Province

My name is Zhang Shusen, and I am 32 years old. I am from Machang Village, Suji Town, Haixing County, Hebei Province. Because I believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," I was brutally beaten, fined and detained. I was forced to leave home to avoid persecution. Even my elderly parents were implicated. They live in constant fear and worry.

6. The Persecution of Practitioner Ms. Fan Guoping in Shanghai Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Fan Guoping, 57 years old, lived on Changshou Road, Putuo District, Shanghai. She was illegally detained in Shanghai Women's Forced Labor Camp from 2001 to 2003. During this time, she was beaten everyday. In March 2003, Ms. Fan was released from the labor camp because of her firm belief in Dafa and righteous thoughts.
