Facts of the Persecution

1. Falun Dafa practitioners Feng Xiaoling and Zhao Dading from Jiyuan City, Henan Province, have been on a hunger strike for 20 days and their lives are in grave danger

Around January 25, 2005, someone reported practitioner Song Xiaodeng from Jiyuan City, Henan Province, to the police for clarifying the truth to people. He was illegally arrested and detained for 12 days.

Between February 1 and 3, practitioners Yang Caiqian, Feng Xiaoling and Zhao Dading were abducted one after another by agents from the 610 Office, the National Security Branch and the Yaqiao Police Station. They are currently in detention. Feng Xiaoling and Zhao Dading are being held in a detention center and have been on a hunger strike for 20 days. They have been subjected to force-feeding and their lives are in grave danger. The authorities continue to forbid any visits from their families.

This is the third time Feng Xiaoling has been detained. Her young child and her bed-ridden parents are left at home with no one to take care of them.

2. Jiang Jie and others from the National Security Brigade in Jianping County, Liaoning Province, have committed vicious crimes against practitioners.

Practitioners Lei Guofen and Yang Sufen from Chaoyang were abducted. Jiang Jie and others arrested the practitioners while they were handling some affairs in Jianping County. Jiang Jie instructed the police to beat them up. The beatings lasted from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. the next day. When the police got tired, they rolled up magazines and hit the practitioners' faces. Lei Guofen's face bled so badly that the blood ran all over the floor. They kicked her down to the ground and forced her to kneel on the floor.

Practitioners who suffered persecution at Jiang's hands also include Qiao Zhongxin and his wife Fu Minzhen. Because they refused to give up their belief in Dafa, they were forced to leave home and work odd jobs elsewhere in order to avoid further persecution, leaving behind their beloved young son and daughter.

3. The plight of a practitioner from Buyunqiao Township in Qidong County, Hunan Province:

My name is Xiao Ganghua. I am a male practitioner from Buyunqiao Township, Qidong County, Hunan Province. I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong at the end of December 2000 and was unlawfully arrested and detained in Beijing's Shijingshan Detention Center. During my detention I was subjected to violence and torture many times. The police slapped my face with the bottom of a shoe. They also poured cold water down my collar, and, when I was soaking-wet all over, they pushed me in front of a fan and blew cold air on me. [Translator's note: December in Beijing is extremely cold and the temperature can be well below zero.] By then I had almost lost consciousness.

We protested the persecution with a hunger strike, but they force-fed us and would not let us use the toilet. Later I was picked up by officers from the Qidong County Police Department and detained in the county detention center for several months. On January 5, 2002, four other practitioners and I were abducted while we were distributing "truth-clarification" materials. The perpetrators kicked my calves and trampled on me. My body was covered with bruises, and my hands were cuffed behind my back for the whole night. The next afternoon I was sent to a detention center. My hands were so badly swollen that they looked like loaves of bread. Later I was transferred to another detention center for eight months and sentenced to one year of forced labor.

On October 11, 2004, six fellow practitioners and I went to Beijing to see the Tiananmen Rostrum. However, we were again abducted and were subjected to interrogations. Vicious policeman Wang Ximing cuffed my hands to the window frame. We went on a hunger strike to protest the maltreatment, but were not released until 17 days later.

4. The suffering of practitioner Shen Duanjun from Qidong, Hunan Province:

My name is Shen Duanjun. I am 50 years old, male, and work as a luggage-handling officer at the Qidong Railroad Section in Hunan Province. Around 11:30 p.m. on November 13, 2002, Shen Ruihong, Chen Huanzhu and a few others from the Political and Security Section broke into the duty office, abducted me and took me to the police station in Niaojiang Town. It was very cold and the wind could chill one to the bone, but the police hung me up outside for nearly an hour. Then they handcuffed me, with one hand reaching down over my shoulder and the other hand reaching up from behind my back. They kept punching me and kicking me and refused to let me sleep. In the morning on November 16, they sent me to a detention center where I was to be illegally detained for one year. Later, I lodged a complaint against the persecution according to Article 41 of the Constitution. I sincerely asked the prosecutor and the judge to uphold justice in enforcing the law, clear my name, and bring Shen Ruihong, Chen Huanzhu and others to justice.
