(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Qu Hongkui, from Dongliao County, Liaoyuan Province went out to clarify the truth many times. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor in December 2001, and developed tuberculosis inside the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun City. He was released on December 29, 2004, and died on February 13, 2005.

Mr. Qu Hongkui, 41, lived in Erdao Village, Lingyuan Township, Dongliao County, Liaoyuan City. He went out many times to clarify the truth and validate the Fa. The first time he was sentenced to forced labor, he served his term in Liaoyuan City Labor Camp. According to eyewitnesses, Falun Dafa practitioners in that camp had to perform hard labor, such as digging ditches, mixing concrete, and carrying rocks. The uniformed guards in the camp often tortured practitioners by tying their hands behind their backs, depriving them of sleep, and forcing them to work all day.

In order to prevent Falun Dafa practitioners from practicing, guards demanded that practitioners stand up facing the wall or "ride an airplane" (1), around the clock. They were not allowed to move. If practitioners moved, the guards ordered the inmates to beat them with wooden boards. When the wooden boards broke into pieces during a beating, they would whip them with cables, while cursing and threatening them at the same time. One day in August 2000, Mr. Qu Hongkui was beaten so severely that he could not walk for a long time afterwards.

On December 30, 2001, Mr. Qu Hongkui was sentenced to forced labor for the second time, again in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp. He endured countless brainwashing sessions and many rounds of torture, and he also suffered from scabies and tuberculosis. Due to malnutrition and lack of medical treatment, he could not recover and was only skin and bones. He was released on December 29, 2004. Mr. Qu died on February 13, 2005 (fifth day of Chinese New Year).

(1) In this torture, the head bends down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands pull up to the highest point. The hips have to point up. One is forced to stay in this position without moving for a long time. The body in this position looks like the shape of an airplane, which is how this torture is named.
