(Clearwisdom.net) My wife and I began practicing Falun Dafa in September 1995. After Jiang started the bloody persecution on July 20, 1999, the local police, officials from the Street Party Committee, the Neighborhood Party Committee and the factory Security Division harassed us at our home dozens of times, the last time at 9:00 a.m. on May 31, 2005. We were trapped inside our home for nine days. We ended up opening the window and "clarifying the truth" to the officials to completely negate all of the arrangements made by the old forces. More details of the story follow:

At 9 a.m. on May 31, 2005, Cai, the head of the Neighborhood Party Committee, accompanied a young man to my home and tried to arrest my wife. We discovered their attempt and they didn't succeed. At 10:00 a.m. the same day, the Neighborhood Party Committee sent people to monitor our home. At 1:00 p.m., they were replaced by a group of security officers wearing fake police uniforms. They watched us around the clock and sat on the stairway. They claimed they would arrest us whenever we left home.
Faced with these unscrupulous perpetrators, my wife and I sat down and looked inward to see if we had any gaps the evil was able to exploit. "If you have fear, it will seize you" (Hong Yin II) Master had already hinted to us that the evil is testing us because we have fear. The security officers surrounded our home for two days, and the number of officers increased each evening. They came and went. The air was so tense you could cut it with a knife. The old forces were testing us because we were afraid. Master said,
"Your own notions and the crooked thoughts that you're still holding on to among human beings as you validate the Fa, those are what you should abandon" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference").
Master clearly points out that fear is a notion and an attachment.
On the evening of June 1, we reviewed Master's poem in Hong Yin II:
What Is There to Be Afraid of
"If you have fear, it will seize you;
As soon as your thoughts are righteous, the evil will collapse;
As a cultivator, bear the Fa in mind;
Send forth righteous thoughts, the rotten demons are blasted away;
The gods are in the human world, to validate the Fa."

The poem tells us how to walk an even more righteous path in this unique cultivation environment. We agreed that we could not hide at home in silence. We decided that we should publicly clarify the truth, completely negating the evil arrangements made by the old forces.
Four meters in front of our building is a street that leads to a school. The school for the children of workers and staff members is across from our home. The street bustles with activity in the morning. Students and parents come and go.
At 8:00 a.m. on June 2, 2005, my wife and I stood on the balcony. With people walking by in the street below, we confronted the security officers asking why they were watching us. The security officers denied they were watching us. It is just as Master has pointed out, that the evil dares to commit crimes but dares not admit it. We proved their illegal acts with facts. Some eyewitnesses pointed out that they were committing a crime. The officers were speechless. They phoned officer Yang from the Street Party Committee. Yang came over and asked to come into our home and talk to us.
By this time, more than 20 people had gathered to watch. "The gods are in the human world, to validate the Fa." Master's teachings echoed in my head. This was a great opportunity to clarify the truth. Master and Dafa were with us, and the railing around the balcony was protecting us. We were standing at a high point, so we had the upper hand in every way. We only needed an excuse to start clarifying the truth. Right then, one security officer quietly told me, "Yang wants you to write the Three Statements. If you write them, he'll leave you alone and you can practice however much you want." We seized the opportunity and said to the crowd, "Dear people, you are watching with your own eyes two people who practice Falun Gong. We are good and law-abiding citizens according to 'Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.' The Street Party Committee and the Neighborhood Party Committee want us to write a repentance statement and they threaten to send us for brainwashing if we refuse. What kind of law allows this illicit behavior?"
We clarified the truth about why Jiang persecutes Falun Gong, how Dafa practitioners are brutally persecuted, the truth about the self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square, how Dafa is spreading around in the world and how Jiang is being sued in many countries for his persecution of Falun Gong. We spoke loudly and clearly and many people nodded. Yang and the security officers were frustrated because they could neither arrest nor silence us. They made phone calls for "help."
Soon, a police car halted out back. The head of the police department and the head of the factory Security Division got out of the car. They knocked on our door. We refused to open it and asked them to go to the front of the building so we could speak. We sent forth righteous thoughts to disintegrate all the rotten demons and evil specters as we talked to them. The three head officials went around to our window and again asked us to open the door. I said to the head of the factory Security Division, "I know that you don't want to commit crimes!" The three officials left after they saw that we were not going to open the door. Only a few security officers remained to continue watching us.
Some people expressed anger at this blatant crime. One 60-year-old woman and another person went to the Street Party Committee and confronted Yang saying, "They are a nice couple and they are elderly. How can you bully them like this? If anything happens to them, we won't stand by and watch it happen."
During the days we were trapped by the evildoers, the local practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts to help us and to eliminate the rotten demons and evil specters that were manipulating people to commit crimes. Some practitioners phoned us to encourage us to look inward, to regard Dafa as the teacher, and to act with righteous thoughts and righteous actions.
By June 4 we were running out of vegetables and were a little worried. On June 5, some fellow practitioners and our relatives brought vegetables, oil, ham, fruit and other food. They handed all the food to us through our window. The security officers were so angry their faces turned red. We experienced Master being right beside us, watching and protecting us. With Master and Dafa on our side, with all practitioners cooperating as a whole body, we cultivated ourselves and we were even more confident in assisting Master to rectify the Fa.
We took advantage of our balcony. We went out on the balcony when people came to visit us. When no one came we studied the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts. In order to further clarify the truth and suppress the evil, on June 7 I copied the content related to human rights in the second chapter of the Constitution of China and hung it up, sheltered from the rain. Many people gathered and started reading it. The security officers were exasperated. They called several young men from the Street Party Committee to come over. Yang, head of the Street Party Committee came. My wife and I stood on the balcony and asked them, "Is it true what we wrote on the paper?" They said, "Yes it's true." I said, "Shouldn't people study it then?" They said, "Yes." They left.
The security officers complained because they had to stay outside, rain or shine, and endure the onslaught of mosquitoes. From time to time, passersby confronted them. The evil could not last.
As time went on, though, human notions surfaced in my mind, and I was slightly worried. I then understood and sympathized with Dafa practitioners who are incarcerated for a long time, and with those who lost their lives through torture. When I expressed my feelings, my wife opened "Don't Be Sad" in Hong Yin II,
"Your body lies in prison - don't be sorrowful, don't be sad
With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, Fa is here
Calmly reflect on how many attachments you have
As you get rid of human mentality, evil naturally
Disappears"
We are Fa rectification period Dafa disciples, and Master has entrusted us with great historic missions: study the Fa, do the exercises, cultivate ourselves, send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil, and clarify the truth to rescue sentient beings. Only when we don't seize the time to do the three things well do we have time to experience ordinary emotions. Master also said,
People's different grasps of and comprehension of the Fa lead to different perceptions of the current situation, and all that's happening is targeting different human thoughts. Those who do well will change the environments around them, and those who do poorly will make the environments around them change according to their states of mind.
"Teaching the Fa a the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference"
During this period of time we witnessed firsthand the supernatural power and the solemnity of Dafa. When we were agitated and anxious, the security officers outside would run around in a fluster, and the evil would create an illusion to deceive us. When we calmed our minds to diligently study the Fa and our minds were on the Fa, the environment outside would immediately quiet down. When my uneasy mind calmed down in the Fa, a poem flowed from my heart/mind like a stream,
I call it, "After reading 'Don't Be Sad'"
No sadness in being trapped inside a small room,
With mind set on rescuing sentient beings, we take to the balcony,
Give up attachments and follow Master,
Certainly we will bring back the spring wind.
At 3:00 p.m. on June 8, the security officers received a notice to attend a conference, and all of them left. The farce ended after nine days had passed. We then truly understood the profound meaning of "As soon as your thoughts are righteous, the evil will collapse"
