(Clearwisdom.net) My husband had gallbladder stones before he started practicing Falun Gong. The stones kept growing and by 1995 they had filled his whole gallbladder. When the condition struck, he was in excruciating pain, rolling in bed, his body perspiring and his face dead white.
We were watching Teacher's lectures in Guangzhou on New Year's Day, 1997. It was 9:30 p.m. when we finished the third lecture. He said his stomach hurt slightly, concerned that his condition would strike again. "That's good!" I said. "The merciful Master is adjusting your body. All your internal organs need to be purified and cleaned up." Master said,
"When your body is looked at in another dimension even each of your bones is black. So purifying a body like that all at once, there just have to be reactions. That's why you'll have reactions. Some people could even have diarrhea or throw up." (Zhuan Falun 2003)
That's exactly what happened to my husband. At around 10 o'clock that evening, he started to throw up and empty his bowels. The vomit, like dark-soil and filling three and a half basins and stank. The excreta were all black liquid. He couldn't stop it until 4:00 in the morning when he finally fell asleep. When I came back from doing the exercises at 6:00 a.m., he was awake. With a smile on his face, he told me, "Come and look. My stomach has flattened. I feel so relieved!" I found that his stomach area, which had been protruding and hard, was now sunken between his ribs and felt soft. He said excitedly, "Master Li has saved my life! I'll work hard on the practice."
He felt alive again and began to have an appetite for any food. I was moved to tears. Since then he became a strong believer in Master and Dafa. Every day, he would study the Fa, do the exercises, and copy the Fa--a really diligent cultivator. On the last night of copying Zhuan Falun, he said he would finish doing it that night. He did it at 3 o'clock in the morning. He said that the more he did it, the clearer his head became, and he found that the whole book was glowing with light, which was truly miraculous!
On July 20, 1999, the wicked Chinese Communist Party began its senseless persecution of cultivators who believe in the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The brutal persecution started with police arresting practitioners, ransacking their homes and confiscating Falun Gong books. In accordance with China's Constitution, we went to Beijing to appeal and validate Dafa. But my son and I were persecuted after we were illegally held and sent back. The authorities searched our homes, held us in custody many times, and harassed us constantly. During the Spring Festival of 2001, my husband was alone at home, sad and miserable, as my son and I were illegally held in police custody and my daughter-in-law and my grandson were forced from their home. Sympathetic neighbors went to see my husband and brought him some food. At this time he developed a fear and that fear became worse as the persecution intensified. Because of his gap in cultivation, which the evil didn't hesitate to exploit, his illness karma, or evil's attack on his body, recurred and was getting worse by the day.
For a moment, my human side took over and I almost went along with it. Master told us,
"Cultivation is something you do right in the thick of tribulations. They'll test whether you can sever your emotions and desires, and they'll see if you can take them lightly. If you're attached to those things you won't be able to finish your cultivation." (Zhuan Falun 2003)
Then, all of a sudden my divine side dominated and reminded me, "Study the Fa, study the Fa. In the presence of Master and the Fa, what am I afraid of? Isn't fear an attachment?" When I took a fresh look at my husband, he had it figured out too, and he said unhurriedly, "Master displayed Dafa's miraculous power by purifying my body in 1997 for the first time. I have a strong faith in Dafa and Master."
We quickened our steps in studying the Fa and doing the exercises. In whatever time we had, we'd send out righteous thoughts to eliminate evil. Fellow practitioners came to my home for group study, to send forth righteous thoughts at designated times, and to help my husband look inside for unidentified attachments. Master said,
"When your character improves, your body really changes. When your character improves, the matter in your body definitely changes." (Zhuan Falun 2003)
Several times during Fa-study discussions, my husband sobbed guiltily as he realized that he had not done well and drifted further from the Fa in the past few years because of his fear. Once I told him, "If you think you don't have enough strength, you may ask Master to support you." He immediately replied, "I'll progress faster in the Fa and resolutely break through my trials. I'll never acknowledge the old force persecution and only travel the path Master has arranged. I'll find my attachment and get rid of it. I'll never allow myself to leave a negative image for Dafa and I'll eliminate my illness karma. I'll let Dafa's mighty virtue and miracle be reflected in my physical changes so that Dafa will spread further." Master said,
"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." ("Drive out Interference," Essentials for Further Advancement II)
A miracle again! On September 1, 2001, after he came out from the stillness of his 6 o'clock sending forth righteous thoughts, my husband said excitedly, "Master came! I saw Master! I am well again! I saw Master in his white shirt. He came over, smiling. And then he sat right by my side. I felt so happy!" My husband had a hearty breakfast that morning and didn't throw up. He underwent a thorough change in overcoming the illness karma this time. One layer of skin peeled off all over his body and he mostly recovered half a month later. Now he's a healthy man, heavier in weight and rosier in his cheeks.
My husband's experience, a testimony to Dafa's power, was very helpful in spreading the Fa among our neighbors, friends and families. They talked about it among themselves, saying "Falun Gong is really miraculous. We have witnessed this man's changes. And now we want to practice Falun Gong, too. The wicked Party really stinks. What does it suppress a good practice like this for? We don't have money to see a doctor when we get ill. So let's practice Falun Gong too." There are already a few of them asking me to teach them.
Master said,
"And as for people who want to learn the practice after you clarify the truth, you should arrange for them to study the Fa and learn the exercises as soon as possible. They are the next group of disciples who will cultivate."("Let Go of the Human Attachments and Save the World's People")
So we are now doing as Master has asked of us.
