United Kingdom: Practitioners Use CCP Leader's Visit to Raise Awareness of the Persecution
(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Hu Jintao will visit the UK next week. UK Falun Gong practitioners are using the visit as an opportunity to raise awareness in British society about the CCP's human rights abuses against Falun Gong. In the past few days, practitioners from London and outside of London have gathered in the capital to hold an anti-torture exhibition, collect petition signatures and give out flyers promoting the practice and exposing the CCP's campaign of genocide against Falun Gong.
The UK practitioners hope to help people know how the 100 million Falun Gong practitioners in China who want only to improve their health and moral characters through the Falun Gong exercises and strive to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, have suffered at the hands of the CCP. Over 2,700 innocent people have lost their lives, many through torture and maltreatment. Human rights workers have documented over 38,000 specific cases of torture or severe abuse. The anti-torture exhibition in London simulates some of these horrific abuses so that people in the Western world can really understand the severity of the mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Letters and flyers have been posted, presented or distributed to countless people, from the Prime Minister and MPs to The Queen and the man on the street. During the last few days, practitioners have been in different central London locations talking to people and giving out leaflets. They have collected signatures calling for an end to the persecution in front of Parliament, outside government offices, near Downing Street, and at the exits of many underground tube (subway) stations.
It has been raining and windy, but nothing can stop practitioners from completing this sacred task. There is only one thought in their minds: helping more people know the truth.
