(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Jingyu was an employee of the Salt Factory for the Shuanghuan Chemical Industry Corporation in Yingcheng City, Hubei Province. Her physical and mental conditions improved greatly after she started practicing Falun Gong, and all of her illnesses disappeared. She worked hard and was a good mother and wife.

After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, Ms. Zhang persisted in being a good person according to "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," and for that she was severely tortured.

Around 4:00 p.m. on July 9, 2000, He Zhongping, the Xinji Police Department head for Yingcheng City (also known as the Shuanghuan Police Department), as well as Wang Yuanyu, secretary of the Salt Factory CCP Committee for the Shuanghuan Science Corporation, Ltd., and several others abducted Ms. Zhang from her work unit and detained her for 15 days.

The following year on November 11, 2001, at 8:00 p.m. officers Wang Yuanyu and Liu Qiang from the Xinji Police Department abducted Ms. Zhang Jingyu from home. They took her to the Shuanghuan Hotel and handcuffed her to a window on the first floor. Whenever she turned around, numbing pains shot through her body. They kept hitting Ms. Zhang's face, head, hands and other parts of her body with metal hangers until she bled from her mouth and her hands had turned purple. They kept her handcuffed for four hours. Her hands were severely swollen when she was finally released. At noon the next day they sent Ms. Zhang to the No. 2 Detention Center in Yingcheng City, where they held her for another 15 days. He Zhongping extorted 2,000 yuan as a "deposit" before her family was allowed to take her home. The money has never been returned.

The following year on April 11, 2002, at 8:00 a.m. He Zhongping and others from the Xinji Police Department again abducted Ms. Zhang from her place of employment and again held her, this time for 28 days at the Wuhan Brainwashing Center without going through any due process.

At 10:00 a.m. on July 24, 2002, CCP committee secretary Wang Yuanyu called the police. Officers abducted Ms. Zhang and sent her to the No. 2 Detention Center in Yingcheng City, where she was held for five days. They withheld Ms. Zhang Jingyu's year-end bonus of 720 yuan.

Around 2:00 p.m. on November 9, 2002, perpetrators, including Zhang Sanping from the Xinji Police Department, abducted Ms. Zhang from work once more and held her at the Duangang Brainwashing Center in Yingcheng City for two weeks. Ms. Zhang held a protest hunger strike. Her systolic blood pressure shot up to 140 and her pulse was 120. Six perpetrators pinned her to a workstation and inserted a tube through her nose into her stomach and force-fed her soymilk. Her mouth foamed and her tormentors were frightened.

The next year, on February 18, 2003, personnel from the Xinji Police Department abducted Ms. Zhang from work yet again and held her at the Wuhan Brainwashing Center for 30 days. She held another hunger strike to protest. On the fourth day they put her in a chair, tied her arms to the armrests, and tied her upper body to the backrest. Five people held her head, hands, and legs. They pried her mouth wide open with medical equipment and used a spoon to press her throat in order to dump the food down it.

Between July 2003 and July 2004, authorities from the Salt Factory lowered her salary from 900 to 600 yuan, although her workload remained the same. Later they raised it to 700 yuan.

On July 23, 2004, Ms. Zhang was reported when clarifying the truth in Mahe Town, Hanchuan City, Hubei Province. Local police abducted her and sentenced to one year of forced labor.

At the Hanchuan No. 2 Detention Center, Ms. Zhang held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Against her will, the police ordered IV infusions for her, possibly with concentrated saline solutions. She became exceedingly thirsty after the infusion was finished. They force-fed her every other day. Each time, five people pinned her to the floor and inserted a tube through her nose down into her stomach. On the seventh day they transferred her to the No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Zhang could hardly walk, and she inched into her cell while holding onto the wall. The next day, several hired young men who were not formal employees of the detention center force-fed her. They dragged her out to the lawn by the front gate and tried to insert the feeding tube, but they couldn't manage it. They slapped her with such brute force that her face turned red. Eventually they were able to insert the tube. They force-fed her the same way in the following days. The tube scarred her throat and caused great pain. The detention center authorities saw that she was at the brink of death and were afraid of being held responsibile, so they sent her and another practitioner to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province to further persecute them.

The authorities at the Shayang Forced Labor Camp assigned two inmates to monitor each Falun Gong practitioner, including the practitioner's words and actions. The practitioners are required to "report" before they enter a room, or they must stand in a military posture for a long time, even after they return to their dorm. Ms. Zhang held a hunger strike for 11 days. She was quite weak and had back pain. Despite her condition, they still forced her to stand in a military posture. She could not endure the back pain and tried to sit down. One inmate immediately stepped on her feet and another one yanked her up by her hand. She was wearing sandals, and both her hand and foot bled from the rough treatment. The two inmates would yank her around whenever she tried to sit down. Sometimes they jerked her collar and scratched her until the skin on her chest broke open. They grabbed her hair and banged her head against a wall and kicked her, all the while cursing the founder of Falun Dafa. They forced her to stand up 24 hours a day as long as she refused to give up her belief.

After September 2004, Ms. Zhang got up at 5:00 a.m. to do the cleaning and take a shower. The inmates watched her as she went out to do slave labor. She was not given any noon break and had to work right after she finished eating lunch. When other detainees went to sleep, the inmates monitored her taking a shower and then brainwashed her until past 11:30 p.m., sometimes past 2 a.m. She still had to get up at 5:00 a.m. the next day.

On December 26, 2004, Ms. Zhang and several other practitioners were transferred from the Shayang Forced Labor Camp to the Hubei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City, where other methods were used to persecute practitioners.

Beginning March 18, 2005, Ms. Zhang went to sleep at 2:00 a.m. and got up at 6:00 a.m. each day until late June, when she was allowed to go to sleep at midnight, although others were allowed to go to sleep at 9:30 p.m. The inmates did not allow her to talk, and they forced her to stand and sit the same way all day long. They followed her everywhere and didn't allow her to speak with anyone. Her weight dropped from 150 pounds to less than 110 pounds.

Her company canceled her labor contract after she returned from Wuhan City.
