Facts of the Persecution

1. Standing up Again to Resist the Persecution

Ms. Zhang Haihong is a Falun Dafa Practitioner in Changchun. On the evening of September 26, 2004, she went out to distribute truth-clarifying materials with her fellow practitioners. She was reported, arrested, and taken to the Luyuan Police Substation. One policeman slapped her face, and then another policeman, Yuan Dachuan, violently kicked her in the stomach twice. Both of the policemen shocked Ms. Zhang's face, hands, body and legs with an electric baton. On October 15, Ward Director Hou Zhihong (female) took her into an office, beat her with an electric baton, slapped her face, and kicked her legs. Later, a police officer used an electric baton to shock her. Zhang Haihong used the opportunity of writing "thought reports"(1) to clarify the truth and reveal the facts of the persecution to her captors. Her righteous actions shook the evil powerfully, and no one dared to beat her since then, but they still forced her stand motionless for extended periods of time every day. She enlightened to the fact that every thought must be focused on the Fa; otherwise it "encouraged" the persecution. Ms. Zhang was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse, and she once renounced her beliefs under pressure. However, she soon regained her clarity of mind and her fellow practitioners were all encouraged by her. Master's teachings made her more and more clear-headed.

Police officers shocked me with electric batons, and then locked me in the basement of the Liaison Office in Beijing. Another practitioner who had gone to Beijing with me was detained for one month in the Zhu City Detention Center, and was tortured to death in only a few days. Several of us went on a hunger strike for twenty days, and were released. Afterwards, I was constantly harassed and led a highly restricted life. On October 18, 2002, a community leader asked me to go to the Village Office. As soon as I arrived there, a group of policemen dragged me to a brainwashing center.
