Police from Dunhua City tortured Ms. Pang Junyuan

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Pang Junyuan is from Baishan City, Jilin Province. Police from the Dunhua City Station arrested her on the morning of July 4, 2004. Police put her on an iron chair (1) and interrogated her. Police body-searched her, confiscated 2,300 yuan, and a Nokia cell phone, for which they issued no receipts. A police officer immediately started using her cell phone. Because she refused to answer any questions or be deceived their tricks, she was brutally beaten. Police handcuffed her behind her back, used an electric baton to shock her, put a plastic bag over her head to terrorize her with suffocation, poured cold water onto her head, and proceeded to torture her this way for thirteen hours. She was later sent to the Dunhua Hospital, where the doctor diagnosed her with a concussion. The police officer, Bian Wenhai, forced the doctor to issue a diagnosis of a "Refluxive Ulcer" and forced Ms. Pang to pay 4,000 yuan in medical costs. Police sentenced her to one year in the Changchun Women's Labor Camp for the "crime" of "disturbing the social order."

Many practitioners in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous District, are being abducted, tortured, and sentenced to labor camps or prison

610 Office officials in Baotou City have been engaged in a frenzy of torture and suppression of practitioners. Since the beginning of 2004, many practitioners have been arrested, tortured, sentenced to labor camps or prisons, or held in detention centers, while others have been forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home. Practitioner Ms. Cao Huifang was tortured until she suffered a nervous breakdown. Practitioner Ms. Zhang Qiao-e was handcuffed onto a bed and then shocked on her spine with an electric baton. They placed a large mug full of very hot chili solution on the table, threatening to force-feed it to her. Police later put a chair on top of her head, forcing her to kneel on the floor. She was sentenced to a labor camp. To keep from getting lost, two practitioners visiting their relatives in Baotou were lead by the relative's niece, Ms. Yang Aizhi, a non-practitioner. Police arrested all three of them. They then deceived Ms. Yang, telling her that if she told them everything she knew about her companions, they would release her. She did but still was sentenced to two years in a labor camp. Her husband is sick with liver sclerosis, and they have no money to pay for the schooling of their child.
