Facts of the Persecution

1. While husband was persecuted by Qingdao Labor Camp, his wife has nowhere to appeal

Qingdao Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province is located around 200 meters east of the Licang District Bus Station. On April 20, 2004, practitioner Fang Shaoliang was abducted to the Qingdao Forced Labor Camp. Since October, the second division captain, Mr. Yang, and two other captains have ordered the inmates to torture him around the clock. They deprive him of sleep, and give him only one fist-sized bun for his meal. As soon as Fang closes his eyes from fatigue, the police direct inmates to pour cold water on him. Fang has only very thin clothes. His wife took him jackets many times, but she was always rejected by the camp. She went to the superintendent of the institute for detention centers to tell them about the persecution that Fang was receiving, and ask them to follow the law and treat him fairly. But they used every excuse not to take any action.

2. The persecution of Mr. and Mrs. Sun Pihong in Mengyin County, Shandong Province

Sun Pihong, 38, and his wife Liu Zhaolian, 36, are a couple from Dongyulai Village in Mengyin Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province. Their relationship was not too good originally, however after they began practicing Falun Gong, it has become excellent. Liu Zhaolian is also able to get along well with her mother-in-law, and has established good relationships with the neighbors. The couple was forced to go to Mengyin Town brainwashing class in January 2000. Being busy in the construction site, Sun, a construction worker, missed the class for three days. As a result, Gong Pibao ordered thugs Yang Ming and Wang Xin to beat him up, and take away his motorcycle. On March 16, 2000 the couple was transferred to another brainwashing class in Chapeng Village in Mengyin Town to further their persecution. They were deprived of sleep for over 20 days, and were being partially starved at the same time. In early June, Liu was sent to the county 610 Office and persecuted for over 20 days. In late 2001, she was arrested again, and jailed in the county 610 Office. After she had gone through all sorts of persecution, family members were finally able to pay 1,500 yuan to get her out. In late 2002, Sun Pihong, while working away from his hometown, was arrested and jailed in the county 610 Office. After three months of torture, he was sent to a forced labor camp in secrecy.

3. The harassment and persecution of practitioners in Wuwei City, Gansu Province

Mr. Lu Zhanshan, 51, lived in Huaixi Village, Fengle Town, Wuwei City, in Gansu Province. He was arrested and detained for 15 days in March, 2004 and fined 300 yuan, and was arrested again on July 5, 2004. His daughter, Lu Zhanmei, also a practitioner, was detained for a month and fined 800 yuan. As of today, the police are still trying to arrest Lu's wife, Zhang Xiufang.

Mr. Qi Jiaxiang, 59, lived in Anquan Village, Shuangcheng Town. He was arrested by the local police and people from the justice bureau, at a fellow practitioner's house on May 23, 2004. They abducted him, beat him up, ransacked his home, and then sent him to the discipline bureau and detained him for 15 days, before finally transferring him to the detention center.

Mr. Zhi Wanchao, 51, is a practitioner who lived in Xinqiao Village, Fengle Town, Wuwei City. On the afternoon of May 10, 2004, captain Chen Fenggang of the armed police in Wuwei City led others to ransack his house. They tied his two arms together behind his back and sent him to jail on May 13. His farm is left unattended, with only his 19 year-old daughter at home.

4. Many practitioners in Maigaiti County, Xinjiang Province are abducted

Practitioners Mr. Ma Jixu, 63, who lived in Hongguang Farm, Maigaiti County, and Mr. Bao Wenjun, who is over 50, and also lived in Hongguang Farm, were abducted on November 26, 2004, by the police from the police station of the 48^th Regiment, Nongsan Division. No one knows their whereabouts right now. On December 15, police from the 45th Regiment Police Station and the National Police Team abducted practitioner Yin Yafeng from Hongguang Farm and took him to the station. On December 19, they abducted Song Meixiong and Mr. Sun, both practitioners.

5. Tumuji Women's Forced Labor Camp in Xinganmeng, Inner Mongolia Province savagely tortures practitioners.

Practitioner Siqingaowa of Xinganmeng was arrested by the local police and taken to the Tumuji Women's Forced Labor Camp and severely tortured. They put her in solitary confinement for over 50 days to force her to give up her belief. When she refused to participate in a meeting to slander Dafa, female guard Ma Hongyun punched her on the face, immediately causing it to distort. Then she dragged her by the hair and threw her against the wall. Between 2000 and 2001, they exposed practitioners Liu Xiaoxin, Zhou Zhihui, Zhai Cuixia, and Wang Xiufang to the burning sun, causing Liu Xiaoxin to pass out. The police also force-fed them, slapped them with the sole of their shoes, shocked them with electric batons, and hung them by their cuffed wrists, which caused Zhai Cuixia to lose consciousness.

6. Policeman Feng Dingzhong and others in Xiahuai Town, Pingshan County, Hebei Province broke into and stole from a practitioner's home in 2002

On the morning of June 4, 2002, policemen Feng Dingzhong, Li Pengfei, Su Shihua, and Han Guishu from the police station of Xiahuai Town, Pingshan County, Hebei Province broke into practitioner Feng Jiancheng's home in Luojiahui Village of Xiahuai Town. They searched the house without a search warrant, and then went into Zhao Jinting's room (Feng's mother, over 70 years old), which was in the same compound. They turned over the place, found 4,000 yuan, and immediately put it into their pockets. After begging them repeatedly, the old lady could not help but say: "If you insist on taking my money, please give me a receipt." The guys wrote a quick note, and also took a cassette recorder which happened to be in sight. Later when the old lady went to them and ask for the return of the money, they replied shamelessly, "We've long spent it all."

7. Practitioner Ge Zhijun of Zhuozho City, Hebei Province was illegally sentenced to eight years in prison in 2001

Mr. Ge Xhijun is a practitioner from Lingyun Factory in Songlindian Town, Zhuozho City. He went to Beijing on December 1, 1999 to appeal for Dafa. The police department in Zhuozho City brought him back, beat him up, and jailed him for 29 days, then extorted from him over 10,000 yuan. After his release, he was strictly monitored by his factory. In July 2001, his factory sent him to the Nanma Brainwashing Class in Zhuocho City and forced him to pay 100 yuan each day. After he escaped, he went to Beijing again to tell people the facts about Falun Gong, but was arrested and sent back to Zhuozhou. Witnesses say that they beat him up and caused him to limp. Later he was sentenced to eight years in prison. The city 610 Office demanded twenty thousand yuan from his factory, which in turn pressured his family. They even withheld his father's retirement fund. His mother went to his factory to ask for living support. Wang Yilin and others from the factory called the police and arrested his mother. They beat her up and shocked her with electric batons. After going home, his mother took an overdose of sleeping pills in despair, but was sent to the hospital and rescued.
