1. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Zhongyan Remains Very Weak as a Result of Torture, but Political and Judiciary Committee Refuses to Release Her
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Zhongyan from Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province, has been on a hunger strike for over ten days, and she is very weak. Members of the Xingcheng City Political Judiciary Committee, including Zhang Rulin, Li Xiangyang, and Song Changjiang, have refused to release her. On the afternoon of August 5, 2004, the Ningyuan Neighborhood Administration and the Ningyuan Police Substation arrested Ms. Wang Zhongyan at her home and put her into a small cell at the Xingcheng City Detention Center. She was later secretly sentenced to seven years in prison. She was sent to the Dabei Women's Prison, located in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, on November 11, 2004. Because she failed the admittance screening, the prison authorities refused to admit her. Ms. Wang is still detained at the Xingcheng Detention Center.
In addition, the Cadres Vacation Facility of the Shenyang City Blower Factory, located in Xingcheng City, has again been used for persecuting practitioners. Many practitioners are being mentally abused and forced to go through brainwashing at this location.

2. [Sichuan Province] Ms. Cui Xiaoping and Ms. Su Chunxiu from Leshan City Sentenced to Prison
Practitioner Ms. Cui Xiaoping was detained in the Shizhushan Detention Center during August and September 2004. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and became completely emaciated. The detention center officials did not want to be held responsible for her death, so they notified her mother to take her home.
On November 2, 2004, officials from the City Central District Court deceived Ms. Cui Xiaoping by telling her to "go to the court for some official business." As soon as Ms. Cui arrived at the court, police waiting there arrested her. She is now being held at the Shizhushan Detention Center again. She has been sentenced to seven years at forced labor.
Practitioner Ms. Su Chunxiu from Leshan City, Sichuan Province, was detained in the Shawan Detention Center during August and September 2004. She went on a hunger strike for sixteen days and was released when her life was in danger. In October 2004, she was arrested again, after being tricked into going to the City Central District Court. She was detained in the Shizhushan Detention Center. She has been sentenced to four years in prison.
3. [Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Chunhui Tortured at Xinjin Women's Prison
Practitioner Ms. Li Chunhui, forty-nine years old, is an employee of the Sichuan People's Radio Broadcasting Station. At the end of August 2004, she was arrested at the Shuangliu Airport where she had gone to see off her sister, who was returning to the United Kingdom. She is now detained in the Xinjin Women's Prison. Her colleagues and parents went to visit her and found that she no longer recognized them. Her eyes stared blankly and there was no expression on her face.
4. [Chongqing] Ms. Wei Xiaojun and Three Other Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wei Xiaojun, thirty years old, is from Tongnan County, Chongqing City. She is an employee of the Tongnan County Branch of the Agricultural Bank. She went to Beijing twice to validate Falun Dafa and was twice sentenced to the Chongqing City Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp. The first time Zhang Liang, head of the Tongnan County State Security Unit, sentenced her to one year at forced labor in January 2000. The second time Zhang Liang sentenced her to two years of forced labor in 2001. Soon after her second release from the labor camp, she was arrested in Chongqing City on July 1, 2003. She is currently being held at the Gonghecun Detention Center located in the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing. The detention center has not permitted her mother to visit her. Ms. Wei has recently been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Practitioners Ms. Tan Changrong, Mr. Lu Yuanjian, and Ms. Li Jianying are from Tongnan County, Chongqing City. Police officer Zhang Liang arrested them, cruelly tortured them, and put them on trial twice. They are awaiting their sentences, although harsh prison terms have since been secretly handed down.
In May and June of 2004, Mr. Lu Yuanjian and Ms. Li Jianying were arrested and taken back to Tongnan County. On July 22, 2004, they were put on trial for the first time, together with Ms. Tan Changrong. Because Ms. Li Jianying was very weak and passed out in the courtroom as a result of excessive torture, the judge ordered a recess.
The second trial was held in August 2004. Jurors of the criminal court could not reach a consensus. The practitioners' files were submitted to the Chongqing Intermediate Court. In the middle of October 2004, without notifying practitioners' families, the authorities sentenced Ms. Tan Changrong to nine years in prison, Ms. Li Jianying to three and a half years, and Mr. Lu Yuanjian to seven years.

5. [Tianjin] Ma Yongyue from Wuqing District Arrested
On the evening of November 26, 2004, police in a patrol car arrested Ma Yongyue, while she was raising public awareness about Falun Dafa. The officers then ransacked Ma's home, which is located at Hepingzhuang in Baigutun Township, Wuqing District, Tianjin. Ma was sent to the Wuqing District Detention Center to be detained there for thirty days.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Wenxian Is Released
Ms. Zhu Wenxian is fifty-five years old. On November 10, 2004, police arrested her, together with Ms. Sun Wenjuan, when they were telling the public about how Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted in China. They were detained in the Pudong New District Detention Center. Ms. Zhu was released fifteen days later on November 26, 2004.
7. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Numerous Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center
Early in November, two women practitioners in Xiheying Town, Wei County, Hebei Province, were body searched while they were in Beijing. They were immediately placed under arrest after some Falun Dafa truth-clarification cards were found. Later they were sent back to Wei County and held for fifteen days in the county detention center. They were subsequently sent to a brainwashing center. Practitioners abducted from other towns and townships are also being held in the county brainwashing center. The practitioners are on a hunger strike to protest their illegal treatment.

8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qiu Liying No Longer Faces Arrest
On the morning of December 1, 2004, many people gathered under the housing complex where Ms. Qiu Liying lives. They had learned that police were again trying to arrest Ms. Qiu. The officers stayed until the evening hours. We learned that by 11:00 a.m. on December 2, Ms. Qiu no longer faced arrest.
Ms. Qiu Liying, 39 years old, was an employee of the Shijiazhuang City Petroleum Refinery. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor in November 1999. She was held in the Kaiping Labor Camp and the Baoding Labor Camp, where she endured mental and physical persecution. While serving her forced labor term, she was even sent to the Tangshan City Ankang Hospital, a psychiatric facility, where she was placed in a cell with male drug addicts and mentally ill patients. Later, Zhang Jianzhong, an official at the Management Division of the Kaiping Labor Camp, sent her to the Tangshan City Fifth Mental Hospital, where she was tortured with high voltage electric needles and injected with nerve-damaging drugs.
At the end of January 2003, after her term was extended by three months, she was transferred from the Baoding Labor Camp to the "Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Class." After ten months of unlawful custody, she went on a hunger strike, demanding her immediate release. She was taken home on the morning of October 1, 2003, after staying on a hunger strike for an entire month. On October 8, 2003, her employer sent her to another brainwashing facility, located within the Hebei Provincial Legal Education Center. She finally walked out of the brainwashing class in the beginning of 2004 after spending more than four years in custody.

9. [Dianbai County, Guangdong Province] Police Arrest He Yanwei, Wang Zili, and Deng Shuiyu
Mr. He Yanwei, Wang Zili and Deng Shuiyu from Shalangguanzhu Town, Dianbai County, Guangdong Province were arrested on the evening of November 28, 2004, while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Lintou Town. They are currently being held in the Dianbai County First Detention Center.
10. [Cao County, Shandong Province] Li Zhengchao Sentenced
Late at night on January 5, 2004, guards arrested Mr. Li Zhengchao for passing out truth-clarifying materials in Wangzepu, Weiwan Town, Cao County. He was sent to the Cao County Police Station the following day. He was later sentenced to seven years in prison for his firm belief in Falun Dafa. He was taken to the Shandong Provincial Prison located in Jinan City on July 20. His wife died several years ago. Since he is no longer able to support his four children (a daughter, 20; one son, 18; twin sons, 16), they now live with the wife of Mr. Li's younger brother.
11. [Chongqing] Two Practitioners in Jiu Longpo District Detained
On the evening of November 22, 2004, police from the Huangjueping Station in the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing arrested practitioner Mr. Huang Lubin, who lives in the First Minzhu Village. The next day they arrested Ms. Kong Dezhen who lives in Second Minzhu Village. Their whereabouts are unknown.
12. [Ren County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xueping Arrested
At 4:00 p.m. on November 22, 2004, practitioner Ms. Zhao Xueping, in her forties from Xiwang Village in Luoluozhuang Township, Ren County, Hebei Province, was arrested in front of her mother's store. Five police officers from the Luoluozhuang Township Police Station took her into custody at the Ren County Detention Center.
In May 2004, police from Xingtai City and Ren County confiscated Ms. Zhao Xueping's sister's copy machine. Police have since tried several times to capture the two sisters.

13. [Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Yakeshi Police Arrest Ms. Yang Chunxiang
Around 5:00 p.m. on November 29, 2004, practitioner Ms. Yang Chunxiang from Yakeshi City was arrested at her home by police officer Lin Haiqing. Ms. Yang was taken to a local brainwashing class.

14. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Ms. He Maofen's Home Ransacked
Ms. He Maofen, 57 years old, is from Yishui County, Shandong Province. Her home was ransacked in November. She is being held at the Gaoqiao Police Station.
15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi Arrested by Officers from Dongling Police Station
Officers from the Dongling Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, 51, on November 9, 2004. Her daughter was arrested several days later. Police confiscated her personal computer. Relatives were able to take her daughter at home two weeks later. Ms. Zhang remains in custody at the Shenyang City Detention Center.
16. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Zhao Xiaoqin's Skull Fractured, in a Coma as a Result of Police Brutality
Practitioner Ms. Zhao Xiaoqin from Jiutai City, Jilin Province, was arrested in April 2004. She was tortured during interrogation, which resulted in a fractured skull. She was sent to the Norman Bethune Medical University Hospital for emergency treatment. Ms. Zhao remains unconscious in coma, and her arm has become deformed. She cannot take care of her daily needs. She has to be taken care of by her parents, who are in their seventies. They can barely make a living.
17. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] An Ordinary Family's Tragic Story
Practitioner Mr. Sun Shizhong, an employee of the Yingcheng Coal Mine located in Jiutai City, Jilin Province, died from torture on April 19, 2002 (see http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/7/17/24198.html). In April 2004, officers from the Chaoyang District Branch Police Department arrested his wife Li, who was in hiding. She was crippled and could not walk as a result of police beatings. She remains in custody, leaving three young daughters at home. They are now living with their aunt. Her youngest daughter is not yet twelve years old.
18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Ms. Dong Lihua
Ms. Dong Lihua, from Changchun City, Jilin Province, used to suffer from heart disease. She recovered completely after practicing Falun Gong. On November 12, 2004, several officers led by Li Fujiang, director of the Nanling Police Station in Changchun City, arrested her at work. Her home was subsequently ransacked, and her Falun Dafa books confiscated. She is being held in the Shuangyang Third Detention Center.

19. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Officials from Nanjing University Torture Practitioner Ms. Xue Jianjin
In 2002 Ms. Xue Jianjin was enrolled in the Chinese Language Department on the Pukou Campus of Nanjing University. On the evening of November 18, 2004, campus security guards arrested her for posting truth-clarifying materials. She is being held at the Nanjing City Brainwashing Center. University officials collaborated with police from the Gaoxin District Branch Police Department and searched her dormitory, confiscating her notebook computer and Falun Dafa materials. A female student in the same dormitory room was taken away for interrogation. The student was unlawfully held by the police overnight. Ms. Xue's parents, who are not Falun Dafa practitioners, have been enlisted to help "work on" their daughter.

20. [Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Sent to Suihua Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Zhanhua, Mr. Shi Chengzhi, Ms. Daqiu, and Ms. Zhang Shuling are practitioners from the Jiayin Farm. They were arrested on November 26, 2004, while distributing DVD's that explain the truth about Falun Dafa. They were sent to the Suihua Detention Center the next afternoon.
21. [Luzhou, Sichuan Province] Elderly Ms. Yin Longzhen Held in Custody with Other Practitioners
Ms. Yin Longzhen is an elderly lady who is retired from the Lutianhua Group Company in Sichuan Province. Officers followed her and fellow practitioner Su, who is from Naxi District, while they were grocery shopping on November 3. Their homes were subsequently ransacked, and all Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials confiscated. The two practitioners are being held at the Anfuqiao Detention Center in the Naxi District.

22. [Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Taiying and Her Elderly Sister Tortured and Forced to Pay Fines
At the end of 2000, Ms. Yang Taiying and her elderly sister Yang Taizhen, who is from Luzhou, Sichuan Province, were taken to a brainwashing class located in the Naxi Food and Oil Guest House in Sichuan Province. They were later transferred to a detention center. Ms. Yang Taiying was released after being on a hunger strike for seven days. Ms. Yang Taizhen's husband is not a practitioner. In exchange for his wife's release, he wrote a statement on her behalf, promising that she would not practice Falun Gong.
Several days later, officials at Yang Taiying's work unit tried to coerce her into writing statements renouncing Falun Gong. She did not give in to this unreasonable demand and, instead, left town for Beijing with her elder sister for the third time. She was sentenced to two years at forced labor. After her term ended, she was taken back to her hometown where she remained in custody for several months. Only after she went on a hunger strike for over a week and started throwing up blood, did authorities send her home. Both of the Yang sisters' families have been forced to pay fines totaling over 30,000 yuan each.
On September 9, 2004, both sisters went to post "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance" signs. Officers from the Lingyu Police Station arrested them. They were initially held at the Anfuqiao Detention Center. No family visits have been granted. On October 10, they were transferred to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp.

On November 6, 2004, practitioners Ms. Li Mingli, 35, and Ms. Li Chunfeng, 37, live at the Songbei Workers Village in the Yangjiazhangzi Development District of Huludao City, Liaoning Province. Local police officer Bai Jingtao and Lu Chunrong, director of the local neighborhood administration office, arrested them for clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. Around 4:00 p.m. that afternoon they were sent to the Huludao Detention Center.
24. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Diehui Detained in Potou Detention Center
Ms. Wu Diehui, 55, lives in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. She is an employee of the Zhanjiang City Merchandise Quarantine and Examination Bureau. Around 11:00 a.m. on June 7, 2004, police officers from the Zhanjiang City 610 Office, the State Security Bureau, and the Gongnong Police Station arrested her near the entrance to the Xiashan Port Administration Bureau. Her home was ransacked. She was taken into custody at the detention center of the Port Administration Bureau. No visits were granted while she was there.
Three months later, Ms. Wu was transferred to the Potou Detention Center. Her employer suspended her salary, effectively cutting off her only source of income. Her husband has been laid off and their child needs to go to school. Her family can hardly make a living.
