On August 10, people from the local police substation and neighborhood committee went to Zhong Fangqiong's home and smashed in the door.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted and Killed
Mr. Jiang Yong or Tong Hui (alias), a practitioner from Changchun City, was tortured to death by the National Security Team of the Changchun Public Security Bureau in June.
Mr. Liu Haixiao, a practitioner from Shuangyang District of Changchun City, was sentenced to sixteen years in prison by the Shuangyang District Court for tapping into the Chinese TV network to show the public the truth about the persecution. In fact, he did not participate in the act. Liu Haixiao is being detained in the Jilin Prison. Because he refuses to give up Falun Dafa, his family members are not allowed to visit him. Details are being investigated.

[Handan City, Hebei Province] Police Devise a Trap to Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners
In August 2004 in Cuiying Village, Guangping County, Hebei Province, a picture vilifying Mr. Li Hongzhi was drawn on the exterior wall of a villager's home. A family member of practitioners Wang Xianglan and Chen Zhen and also the mother of Chen Yongqi noticed it and went to remove or cover the drawing that evening. However, it turned out to be a trap set by the local police to take advantage of practitioners' respect for Dafa and Master Li.
[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Gu Shuhua To Be Illegally Tried
Ms. Gu Shuhua, a practitioner from Dalian City, was transferred to the Pulandian Detention Center on August 7 after being detained in the Yaojia Detention Center for nearly seven months past her original term. In the Yaojia Detention Center, Gu Shuhua suffered tremendously from the torture. Both of her legs were severely injured and she has great difficulty walking.
On January 19, 2004, Chen Xin from the National Security Team of the Dalian Public Security Bureau, together with Ren Lianfu, assistant director of the Zhoushuizi Police Substation, Qu Yongjing, Party Secretary of the Zhouxi Neighborhood Committee, and Lin Minxin, patrol security guard, arrested Gu Shuhua and searched her home. Her family demanded to meet with Chen Xin regarding the illegal search and arrest but he refused, as he had no search warrant.
We have recently heard that Gu Shuhua may be tried illegally in Pulandian.
[Buyang City, Anhui Province] Eighty-year-old Man Harassed and Illegally Fined
On the morning of July 5, 2004, Zhang Guoxian, assistant director of Tanpeng Town Police Substation, together with some policemen, forcibly searched the home of Zhao Congyun, an eighty-year-old teacher and Falun Gong practitioner from Tanpeng Town, Linquan County. The police ransacked Zhao's home and searched his yard. They even dug the dirt out of the cellar, which was used for storing ginger. In the end, the police arrested the elderly man and kept him in the police substation for over two hours. While detained, Zhang Guoxian tried to force Zhao to be fingerprinted. Zhao refused with righteous thoughts.
Then the police forcibly took the Zhao to Linquan County Public Security Bureau in an attempt to coerce him to renounce Falun Dafa. Zhao explained to the people in the office how he had benefited from practicing Falun Dafa. Zhao was sent back home after the officers unlawfully extorted 200 yuan from him in the guise of a fine.

[Jilin City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Wang Chaohui Detained
Mr. Wang Chaohui was illegally sentenced to forced labor. On August 7, 2004, his initial term was completed. His family went to pick him up on August 9th at the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp. They saw that Wang Chaohui was very weak. However, Zheng Hailing, director of the Administrative Section, refused to release Wang, with the excuse that "its been decided by a higher authority not to release those who will not renounce Falun Gong." He also claimed that whoever did not renounce Falun Gong would have their sentence extended five days for each month of their original sentence. If he persists and does not give up Falun Gong by the end of his term, he will be sent back to the local "610 Office" or sentenced to forced labor again.
On August 12, Wang Chaohui's family members went to the labor camp again, asking for his release. They asked Zheng Hailing whether the term had been extended on the 7th. Zheng said that he hadn't submitted the application for extension yet. Since June 10th, Wang Chaohui has been tortured in an intensified brainwashing center. He is forced to sit on the "board" from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. It has been reported by an inside source that those who are forced to sit on the "board" must sit motionlessly on for a long time. If they move even a little bit, they will be beaten.
[Jilin City, Jilin Province] Six Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
During July 24 to 27, personnel from Jilin Public Security Bureau arrested Mr. Zhou Zhengxing, Ms. Li Guizhi, Ms. Wang Lixia and Ms. Jin Min at Yantong Hill of Panshi. The six practitioners were unlawfully taken to Jilin City. Jin Min walked out of prison with righteous thoughts some time ago and had been shadowed while distributing truth-clarifying materials.
[Anda, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Wang Yongfang's Life in Grave Danger
Ms. Wang Yongfang was illegally arrested at home by Liu Yingshan and other policemen from the Politics & Security Section of the Anda Public Security Bureau in May 2002. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor in the Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp. Due to the persecution, she had a relapse of tuberculosis. She became extremely thin and weak. Despite this, she is forced to work every day, producing chopsticks. Her family is not allowed to visit her, because she has not given up her belief.
During the Chinese Lunar New Year, the forced labor camp was afraid that she might die and decided to release her to her the local authorities. However, the Anda Public Security Bureau would not accept her.
Wang Yongfang has an eighty-year-old mother and a sister who is unemployed at home. They do not have any income and live by doing various part-time jobs or selling barbecued corn.

[Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Policemen Burglarize a Practitioner's Home
On the evening of August 16, 2004, about a dozen policemen in three vehicles drove to practitioner Xing Guoshu's home at Dawangmiao Town of Suizhong County. No one was home at the time. The policemen broke into his home by smashing through the door. They confiscated a computer, a printer and some paper without a search warrant. Three policemen remained in Xing Guoshu's home, in an attempt to arrest him and other practitioners.
Currently Xing Guoshu's situation is unknown.

[Jilin City, Jilin Province] A Department Hires an "Infiltrator" at a Lucrative Salary
Attention, fellow practitioners in Jilin City: a practitioner met a 30-year-old woman while explaining the truth of Falun Dafa. The woman revealed that the relevant department in Jilin City was interviewing women between 30 to 40 years old to be an "infiltrator" in an attempt to sabotage truth-clarifying materials production sites. The woman indicated that she had been referred to them for the job and was told that the pay was quite high. She had refused the position and said she would never do such a fraudulent act, despite the lucrative salary.
[Beijing City] Young Shanghai Practitioner Subjected to Torture
Around 2001, a young Shanghai practitioner (about 25 years old at the time) went to Tiananmen Square alone to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was arrested. No matter how brutally the police tortured him, he did not say a word. Thus the police do not know his name, address or other information. He is being detained without due process on the 3rd floor of Daxing District Legal Training Center in Beijing (actually a brainwashing center).
He had been on a hunger strike for months on end and was sent to the Public Security Hospital for emergency treatment when his life was in danger. He insists on studying the Fa and doing the exercises, without listening to any lies or rumors. In order to prevent him from practicing the exercises, the police guards cuffed him to a bed for months. However, his righteous thoughts have never wavered. He shouted loudly the phrases of Fa-rectification, which shook the entire den of evil.
His unshakable righteous thoughts and righteous behavior scared the evil in the guards. The police guards acknowledged that they could not transform him. Every day, there are numerous kind people like him subjected to inhumane persecution in China. They are deprived of their human rights and even their lives, without the public even being aware of their plight.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Wang Li Detained in the Hewan Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Wang Li, who has been missing for nearly three months, was recently confirmed to be detained in the Hewan Forced Labor Camp. According to inside sources, Wang Li was directly transferred to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp after she was arrested. She was subjected to brutal torture and became extremely thin. Not long ago, she was transferred to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp.
Wang Li was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor last September. The imposed term would have been completed in one month. However, staff from the labor camp is threatening to extend her term if she does not cooperate with them.
[Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia] Two Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Yang Yuanyuan was arrested by Wang Hongkui, head of the National Security Team, at the Honghai Market at 9:00 p.m. on July 25, 2004.
An elderly female practitioner was arrested at #401, Unit 1 of a yellow building in the Yafeng Residential Area, Boyuquan District, Yingkou City. She did not give her name. Her current situation is not known.

Shanghai police and National Security agents intend to persecute practitioners by taking advantage of their concern for loved ones. For instance, a practitioner's wife needs a job. Agents covertly pretend to be kind people and offer to help solve this problem. They even offer very favorable conditions: she could select any employer to work for. They know that if practitioners do not give up sentimentality and attachments to reputation and personal interest, they can more easily take advantage of them and manipulate practitioners into providing them with information to undermine Dafa. These agents are attempting to damage Dafa disciples by faking kindness and compassion.
Practitioners should strengthen their study of the Fa and righteous thoughts. At the same time, they should send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the persecution.
